  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

2015 Genesis "Likes":

Honda can't copy the horsepower though. I love this car :D

I think the Gen2 rearend looks more like a Hyundai than a Genesis.

Maybe this has already been mentioned, but I have to say I love the electroluminescent gauges. I realize they are becoming more common, but even my most recent 2006 Acura RL had traditional, incandescent backlighting. I love how "white" the needles and numbers are, and how black the background stays. It's like they are floating in mid-air. I'm also glad we can adjust the brightness as on full, they are actually too bright. Cool also how when you turn the car off, you get a quick trip summary with just the tach and speedo needles lit up.

I agree entirely. I have had the electroluminescent lights on all my cars since since my '05 Outback XT.

I will say though that one thing I have noticed is that because of these gauges, many folks do not realize their lights aren't on at dusk or coming out of a lighted area at night. I notice this first when Honda started using them in the Odyssey / Accord in the early 2000s. Now, I see several cars each time I drive at night without their headlights on because of this. It is a serious problem in my opinion. You'd think Auto lights would be mandatory at this point. Both for nighttime AND when the wipers are on.

I have had my 2015 V6 AWD w. signature and tech pkgs for 4 months now (10K miles).
Power is fine, I am getting over 22 mpg and the build/ride quality is excellent.
Love most of the features, wish I had gotten the Ultimate Package. I don't like having to use the touch screen to access features (I am not having a lot of success with voice commands) and the console controls on the Ultimate would solve that issue.
My complaint is that they don't include the LED fog lights on any V6 in the US- apparently they are standard in Canada.

This is the exact reason I always purchase a vehicle with every available option so I have no regrets in wishing I had later on.

I wanted to get the Ultimate primarily for the knob control and the HUD, but $2000+ seemed too much to pay for that. Besides, my dealer was unable to locate one in the colors I wanted and I got impatient. My Tech package is fine. I am looking forward to today's 100-mile drive and tomorrow's 400.

...I am looking forward to today's 100-mile drive and tomorrow's 400.

I have noticed the same thing. Really look forward to drives no matter how long they are. Put about 600 miles on the car this past weekend. The big difference between this car and my old Honda Civic SI is the condition of my body after the long drives. I have zero aches like I use to get with my old car or even my wife's current 2012 Honda Civic.

After an hour in either of those cars and I would start getting pain in my legs. The seats are awesome and worth every penny. Even though the passenger seat doesn't have all the adjustments as the drivers seat, my wife commented on just how comfortable they are. On the trip home coming back across the state she slept 80% of the way :D

Found a new like today by accident. I was washing the car today and after wiping down all the door jams I opened the trunk and clean that area as well. When I pressed the lock button on the trunk, it would not close the trunk. Only when I pressed the close trunk button did it close.

This must be a safety feature so not to inadvertently lock your Key Fob in the trunk. Mine was in the house when I pressed it. Cool feature.

It's not that (but you also can't lock the car with a Fob in it). What you observed was the fact that the car won't respond to lock commsnds if it doesn't sense the fob - since your fob was in your house, it reacted like it should: no key - no lock!

I found that out a few weeks ago at work. I get out and hit the lock button on the door handle and it would not lock. Key Fob in the car :D

Right - it just beeps (long warning tone) at you and won't lock! It also won't lock if a door is open: I was trying to lock via the trunk and driver door last night and kept getting the warning tone and it wouldn't lock - lo and behold, my daughter had not fully shut the passenger side door!

Now that is another great feature to have. Lets you know a door is open. I wonder if this would work if a window is left open as well. I am going to go try it now and will report back shorty...

Reported back findings: No it doesn't, but when you shut down the engine you get an audible tone as well as a Flashing Warning on the LCD screen that states "WINDOW IS OPEN"... Another cool option we all have.

I have seen image after image of the new Genesis, and I really don't like what I see. That being said, I saw one in person, and WOW... none of the pics do these cars any justice. It's very strange, but these cars aren't very photogenic!
I do know what my next purchase will be - another Genny!

Isn't it weird? I agree TOTALLY! Whenever people post pictures of her on here I always think ... eh. Then I look at my baby and I'm wowed ev-ery time

Agreed - what is hard to capture in pictures is presence. To me the car has great presence in its size and contour. There aren't any angles I don't love. I especially like the creases in the hood.

+1! The colors are always a surprise in real life, too.

Is it possible to change the angle of the NAV view? I am used to a "birds eye" view. I didn't get a chance to look during my test drive.

Top-down only (in USA at least). Screenshots I've seen show a 3D view in some other countries. I prefer the top-down view myself!
