If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. 2015 Genesis Tech Package - Front turn signal bulb blown - LED Replacement?

The harness that holds the bulb itself
That's the one! It is the first photo in my first post on this issue. Getting the white connector to disconnect from the headlight housing to which it is attached has been impossible. I pry only to the point of fear it will break the housing tab. So far I've not been able to find any tab to release it, although I'm sure there must be one...someplace. The car side of the wiring was easy to disconnect, but I can't change the light harness until I can disconnect it from the headlight housing. Of course, if worst comes to worst I can just leave the old harness attached to the headlight housing use the new harness leaving the old one just hanging from the tab. Tie strap the new harness to the old one's wiring and press ahead. Not Plan 'A', but sometimes you have to move on to Plan 'B'.

So you're trying to unplug the short 4" section that holds the bulb from the long wiring section at the white plug. You've removed the round part that holds the bulb from the light fixture, correct? I dont remember having such a problem with unplugging the white plugs - if that's what you mean.

Yes, I have removed the round part that holds the bulb in the light fixture and removed the bulb. I have separated the two halves of the white connector. The white piece (connector) at the other end of the harness that has the round thing, is affixed to the headlight housing. As you can see in the second of the two photos in my original post on this issue/question, the white connector has slots that slides onto a tab that is part of the headlight housing...I can't find a way to remove this white connector from the tab on the headlight housing.

If I remember correctly, when I did this, I was able to just bend the tab up (swing the bottom of the tab toward the rear of the car and up) so that I could get behind the connector to unclip it. I was able to bend both tabs back but I got a little aggressive with the second when clipping the harness back to the tab (both of mine were reverse polarity for my SiriusLEDs, lucky me...) and broke it... Obviously not something you'd want to do over and over again. That was early June and so, far so good. Just took the car on a 1000 mile (one way) road-trip with DRLs blazing the whole time and no issues.

Anyone know if these LED's are plug and play like the Sirius LED's (which are not available on Amazon right now)?

I had my passenger side bulb replaced in 2018 by the dealership, then the harness and bulb replaced soon after when the bulb went out again... been driving with the DRL's off for 2+ years to reduce wear (auto mode only at night) but the passenger side went out again this week and I'm my car is out of warranty now so I'm ready to swap the OEM's for some LED bulbs...

A follow up from my post last week... the Sirius LED bulbs came back in stock a few days after I posted. I ordered and installed them today.

Did the passenger side that had burned out first, plug and play, no hyper flash, polarity was fine. Didn’t have to remove the airbox either as my hand was able to reach in and swap it out, barely.

My driver’s side OEM bulb isn’t burned out after 58K miles but figured I’d swap it anyway. I had to remove the airbox to get to this one though and unfortunately it hyperflashed. I guess I can run the old bulb and hope it doesn’t burn out, otherwise what are my options? A resistor?

I find that with mine if the wipers are set to automatic the turn signals don't hyper flash. Putting the wipers to "off" and they do hyper flash... Weird, but they work!

Okay, this is strange, but I simply rotated the bulb 180 degrees and put it back in and no more hyperflash. Odd that one metal contact is fine while the other one hyperflashes.

They can be sensitive little buggers!

Just to confirm, are you using the Sirius LEDs on both sides? Like Stl-Jon I've been running with the DRLs off most of the time. I thought it might save wear on the headlights since they were turning on and off every time I entered my garage during the day. However, I'm out of warranty now, too considering an easy change.

Are you using the Sirius LEDs on both sides? That would be a great fix if it works on US models!

I replaced the DRL 1157 bulbs with simple LED's - great change....easy....needed to add resistors to eliminate rapid signal flashing. One important note, LED's are sensitive to polarity. One of my turn signal/DRL lights was wired in reverse polarity and I had to correct it. My wife also has a 2015 Genesis and both her lights are wired backwards. Easy fix and not significant if you're using an incandescent bulb, but it's still wrong and must be fixed if you want to use LEDs. I didn't notice this issue when I bought switchback LEDs and assumed that they just didn't work. I ended up returning them and only later saw a thread from another owner who noted the polarity error from Hyundai. Once fixed, everything worked well.

How do you reverse the polarity?

Reviving this thread since once again, one of my turn bulbs died for the second time this year. Using the "Long Life" Sylvania's now.

Are there any decent plug and play LED amber lights out there now or do we still need to do a bunch of wire cutting and adapter to make LED work?

thx

VLEDs Tritons have worked since this thread started.

If I used say these, Sylvania 1157A Amber ZEVO LED Mini Bulb, I understand they will hyperflash. So does that mean the exterior LED light will hyperflash AND the inside dash turn light will do the same or just the dash flasher will hyper flash and exterior will flash normally?

If it's just a dash issue, is there any harm in letting it do that and just move on or could this cause electrical issues down the road?
