A comment on the board about the possible replacement of a defective electronics module (head) could run more than $5,000 got me thinking about a warranty for the first time with a car. I realize even the Platinum warranty does not cover wearable items like brakes, filters, hoses, wipers. But for some reason I seem to recall that even the Platinum will not cover all aspects of electronics including the safety related tech (lane, intelligent cruise control, etc). Is purchase of the warranty when buying a new car the best time price wise to do it? Thanks
