The thing is, the grille really isn't that big. It's even smaller than the one on the Fusion posted here. It would be foolish to think that something as significant as a grille design would just change a week before launch and two months before its NoAm debut.

According to Hyundai the 2012 US sales for the Genesis Sedan was approximately 33,973 vehicles....they do not break down how many 3.8's vs. 5.0's were sold.

In the past, Hyundai did not break down Sedans vs Coupes in their sales numbers. Are you sure that number is only for Sedans?

No - that's for total Genesis sales (both sedan and coupe).

For 2012, Hyundai sold around 23k of the sedan (shows how poorly the coupe is selling).

As for the latest pics, looks a bit better than the early, blurry shots, but the design overall gets a meh.

Nothing horrendous about it but nothing great/striking about it either.

The designers could have made it so much better if they had tweaked the shape/lines of certain things (such as the shape of the hexagonal grill - which is a bit off - and the shape of the headlights - which is boring).

As for all the comments about the new Genesis looking like this or that - on just the front alone - have seen mentions of the Mazda6, Audi, Fusion, BMW, Volvo, etc.

Thought that with the new Genesis with an improved ride, handling and interior, as well as available AWD, in a full year of sale, should be able to hit around 30k in sales.

Seems like Hyundai is thinking the same as they are projecting 35k in sales for the Genesis and Equus (presumably 30k for the Genesis and 5k for the Equus).

If the Genesis hits that sales mark, it would basically double Lexus GS sales (if not more as GS sales tend to plummet after its 3rd/4th year) and many multiples of the Infiniti M.

I agree with you. I was really expecting so much more from Genesis. It was a disappointment to see the interior spy shots and now exterior actually looks better in the spy shots with all the camo.

I really wanted to buy the new Genesis but I guess it was not meant to be. After seeing the disappointing interior of the Genesis spy shots, I'm now into 1.5 months on a 3 months timeline for my special ordered 2014 Lexus IS350 F Sport. Wait is unbearable!

The 4th and 5th pictures show different transmission controls. It's also curious that the 5th picture has a heated steering wheel button on the center console when a previous pic has shown it near the driver's left knee. I wonder if the trim levels are going to have this much variation.

Is the hood not closed properly? For a photo vehicle (GENESIS PLATES FOR ALL TO SEE) the front end and hood do not seem to mesh well at all.

Noticed that too... but I figured it was track guys not caring to make the left side closure adjustment since they didn't expect to have spy shots taken of the car that day (clearly evident from the guy chasing off the camera-person).

Paparazzi always get 'em at their worst!

Love the idea of V8 with AWD and all the anticipated electronic goodies. Have to really see it person to fully evaluate it. Do not like all that shiny wood in the interior.
