  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

2015 Hyundai Genesis Sedan Spy Photos

The only option in that list, other than AWD V8, that would concern me is the heated steering wheel. I guess we all have plenty of time for speculation but nothing can be confirmed until Hyundai USA makes the appropriate announcement. I just hate Limbo..
How about some deerskin gloves? I am not kidding, as I have a pair I and they are great on very cold days.

I certainly could use a good pair of gloves. But seriously, the one feature that I truly miss that was present on my 740il is the darn heated wheel. What a pleasure on a cold day.

There's a decent chance it will still be there. It's on the '14 RSpec, the K900, and the auto show '15 V8 had it as well. The options list press release was the only indicator it wouldn't have it... here's hoping the maker of that release was just on crack. My gripe with removed features -- even ones that I don't care about -- are those stupid fake buttons. I really hope they fix that. I seriously think a gigantic blue-link button that's the size of all 3 bottom buttons would look better than the block outs, especially when it's the center console.

I am serious. If you get a good pair of driving gloves, you will be far better off than having a heated steering wheel.

Anybody know if the 2015 model will be displayed at other auto shows, in particular at Chicago Auto Show in February?

Italia -- My main concern for the 2015 2nd G is the seat re-design (power side bolsters, larger bolsters, leather running vertical which holds a driver in the middle versus old Genesis horizontal leather with seam crossing drivers spine perpendicular, and new Genesis upper seat breaks forward -- can see the hard plastic back covering that is segmented near the top instead of being simply straight as previous Genesis seats, and also the seats are lower versus the higher present seats that are akin to a SUV/Cross-over seat feel/ride).

But, I agree with your assessment of the 2015 2nd G you posted. I'm glad they did not lengthen the overall car, but increased the wheel base to 119 inches (vs old 116 inch). This will help balance the car better by having less over-hang. The rear view of the 2nd G might be more appealing since it is not real busy, and the quad tail-pipes will change the rear appearance some. Again for me, I need to be comfortable driving the car first .... after that comes the performance & appearance.

So, waiting for April release. Personally, my new 2013 Genesis Rspec is a great car except for the seats. I sure do not 'want' to pull the trigger and get a new BMW 535i just for their great seats before trying the new re-designed seat in the 2015 2nd G. Regards.

I guess you've tried something like this?

I know what you are talking about. I have Genesis sedan, but not Tech Package, and therefore I have some blank buttons on my dash. It is so humiliating that I don't like to let others ride in my car.

Derek Joyce, Manager, Product Public Relations confirmed to me in writing that the new Hyundai Genesis will not have Advanced Smart Parking Assist (ASPAS) as an available option in the U.S. version. He said that it would have the "rear camera assist" but I don't think he meant that it will have that overhead wraparound view either that was in the Korean Domestic Market version. Too bad. I wish Hyundai USA would let us option out the cars with all of the cool toys!

Ever since 2009 Genesis, the KDM version has always had more options than the US version. That is not likely to change. Keep in mind that the KDM version of Genesis sedan costs significantly more than the US version.

Given that the Genesis is made in Korea, and the lead time involved for getting cars to the US, one cannot order individual options on the Genesis, only predetermined trim packages. This is just like all other Asian manufacturers, and even most US manufacturers these days.

I got a message from a buddy of mine that works at the import processing place for Hyundai here in SoCal. So far, they have nothing on the incoming list of the '15 genney. He said he will let me know when he finds out that they are coming in and I'm going to try and get over there to see one and get some pictures. So keep an eye out on here and I'll post up as information becomes available of when they are actually here in SoCal. ;)

That would be great. Thanks.

Random questions from pics:
Where is the ESC-off button?
Will ivory leather only be offered with certain trims since there's no "wood grain" paired with it?

I think the AWD is a typo on the sidebar. Everyone else is calling it RWD and at the beginning of the second paragraph they do too.

Ouch, I'm sure I mentally blocked that out on purpose
