2015 Hyundai Genesis Sedan Spy Photos

Re: 2014 Hyundai Genesis Sedan Spy Photos

Well... If those renderings,are accurate, I'm glad I got me a 2012.

That last Audi looks great.

Kinda makes me think I should go out and get a black 2013 R-Spec... Since it's winter here and it won't hurt to waiting until they release more details for 2014.

If those renderings are accurate, my next car will be the Equus.

Re: 2014 Hyundai Genesis Sedan Spy Photos

I have to agree on the Equus statement. The whole point of this car was the classic design cues. If those renderings are close to the end product, forget it, they've lost me. I can't stand those big gaping mouth designs (don't like them on the Gen Coupe, nor Audis, nor on anything really). I really hope this isn't the case. That looks like a Maxima front end, and the rear looks like an afterthought; they'd be taking a cue from Toyota and Honda, putting together individual components that don't "flow" well.

This is a bad photoshop is what I'm hoping.

Re: 2014 Hyundai Genesis Sedan Spy Photos

I'm going against the grain...I like it. I like the way the 2012 looks too. When the 2012 came out many of the 2009-2011 people hated it. When the 3G Acura came out (2004) it took a year on the road to appreciate its beauty (the 4G is the ugly one). Can't stop progress. Besides I'm looking forward to checking the tech, ride, and handling which I'm expecting to be much improved.

When I was a kid there were large factions of people who thought the Beatles were horrible. An affront to the ears. More Sinatra, Dino and Sammy, please, they'd say. Well, look what happened. The Beatles changed the world. The Rat Pack changed Vegas.

You get my point.

What I am anxious for is the likely large improvement in refinement that this 2G Genesis will likely receive. Hyundai has A LOT of room for polishing to genuinely compete with the stalwarts of the segment.

Re: 2014 Hyundai Genesis Sedan Spy Photos

The time frame is right for a Genesis redesign. These pics are of that redesign.

It makes no sense to buy a 2013 if waiting for the redesign is an option. My big concern is the hit I may take in depreciation when the new model comes out.

I've said it before and I'll say it again. The 2014 will be a home run for Genesis and I'm not a Genesis sunshine pumper. In fact I've spent a significant amount of time at the dealer with my 2012.

Re: 2014 Hyundai Genesis Sedan Spy Photos

The Genesis wants to be a luxobox contender. The new rear is very weak looking. A taillight fix is needed already and the car isn't even "here" yet. The front is the baby of a Maxima and an Audi subsequent to a one night stand. If you want to see the cars they are trying to copy most, just go to the Audi website. I want my Mercedes grille back!

whoa, looks almost exactly like the rendering. Hopefully we get LED headlights over here.. i bet none of the nice features will make it over here again..

Sure looks a lot like what may be under those tarps. You may have actually found it. It not bad looking. Looks like its lost a few of the sexy curves from the original lines.

I am not liking the Audi copy of this grill. If they can pull off a great car this time it might be a nail in the coffin of the premium brands. In my opinion the Genesis has the most beautiful grill on the market, they need to continue this trend.

I'm reserving judgement for now... but based on what I've seen so far, at least I like it more than the Kia Quoris front end. I think it's the vertical orientation of the slats (or whatever they're called) on that car that bothers me.

I'm equally interested in how far Hyundai is going to go with electronic driver assists like HUDs, blind spot detection, and active collision avoidance. That stuff is starting to trickle down to cars like the Honda Accord.

Hyundai should increase the 36 month warranty on the electronics they already have before adding a lot of new stuff.

Re: 2014 Hyundai Genesis Sedan Spy Photos

It's very clear that Audi is the target copy car for the new Genesis. My preference would have been to stay with the Lexus, Mercedes and BMW design cues.

Agree, however, that the new Genesis is prettier than the Kia Clitoris.

Also agree with extending the electronics warranty!
