The problem with that interior is... it doesn't look as good as the Azera's!

This one is like a haphazard afterthought!

Of course... once all the tape and covers and such are off, it might look better.

I'm thinking after seeing different interior colors such as the saddle brown and a different wood color, it may look a lot better.

I like the new Equus interior of them all though.

Azera interior, while it looks good in a picture, I was disappointed when I saw it in person.

I really like the new Lexus GS dash and steering wheel. If Hyundai could some how mimic that style along with 12" screen size it would be a big improvement over these spy pictures.

The interior has gone from simplistic elegance to CHEVY-LIKE button bonanza. Steering wheel controls is way overdone -awful. Dash- too many buttons. Disapointed that the dash disply is not like the Equus with LCD gauges.
I agree with others, the Azera cockpit is nicer.

If you look at the pic above with the blue notebook is the driver door storage, you can see a small piece of the "silver" (chrome) trim that is sticking out where they didn't tape it.

Hmm, I think you're right. My mistake.

The new interior is ugly IMO, entirely to busy especially around the steering wheel and cheesy looking. Why would you want your drink holders to be even closer to the electronics on the dash, I can see an accident waiting to happen right there. I think the stitched leather in our current model looks very elegant and I get compliments on it all the time. Big pieces of "wood" are gaudy, imagine the sun reflecting off that...it would be very distracting if not blinding at times. I also prefer the manual shift as it is in the current genesis models to the right (not left side like the Sonata's which is too easily bumped) vs. paddle shifters.

To be fair.... Most of the US-spec cars that I've seen do not have a wooden dash. Most of those are either Korean-spec or Canadian-spec, at least from what I've seen.

So... We might see a leather dash there instead. Just a thought.

I just spent 4 days with an Azera (car in shop for brake fluid recall plus some other odds and ends) and agree. Looks swoopy in pictures but wasn't as functional in real world terms. The '14 Genesis interior leans pretty/very conservative, which is probably what Hyundai intends, and while that's probably disappointing to those of us who really like the new Lexus GS interior, I think it'll likely appeal to a broader range of buyers. As quickly as they've made progress, I think it's still another generation of hits under their belt before Hyundai really stretches the boundaries on interior design. Or maybe simply they need a designer who's more visionary.

Obviously I have no idea if it will be offered here, but the a 4cyl diesel hybrid has been rumored on the 2014 Genesis.

Interior looks crappy, too many buttons, those flipped triangle vents are terrible.

In a sick way I'm actually glad about this because I'm still in love with my '12 and I see even less reason to upgrade since it's going to look like that for 5 years....from early 2014!

That was very cool. I like the sound of the engine on the straightaway. Wonder which engine it was. At one point it appeared to be running behind two different Mercedes wagons. What was that all about?

around 1:40... there was a range rover (or similar) behind the genesis... the genny was squeeling and the range rover was like no big deal... no body roll no tire noise nothing.
