If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

2015 Hyundai Genesis Sedan Spy Photos

Hyundai has been telling the media for a long time that it will be in US in 2nd quarter of 2014. That would be April, May, or June. My dealer said they expect to have some by May. The date can vary by dealer, depending on how many 2013/2014 they still have in stock. It might also depend on how far a dealer is from a port of entry. I think it is up to dealers to decide on how many to get, and when to get them. Some dealers still do not have 2014's in stock, even though we know they are available.

Mark_888; thanks for the info. My local dealer does not have and 2014 in stock, only new 2013 models. I will check with the sales person that sold me mine to see if they have a date. I will definitely be going to our auto show in mid Feb to have a look and sit. I am really starting to like the 2015 the more I read about it

I will try to ask on the Hyundai Thinktank Q&A tomorrow.
Bill - Thank you again for your help with sale date question. I surely do not want to cave in due to health issues and get a 535iBMW, or ATS CUE system just to get bolsters. Regards, Dan.

KatmanO - That sounds like a good plan. Maybe between you, Bill, and the sales Mngr here we might get some good info regarding sale date. All i want in the new G is the seat and power bolsters, everything else is extra since my 2013 is fine except seat. So HUD, wood, sport mode vs touring mode, etc. ... they are things i like, but I will have to eat some serious money to get into a new nice seat. Regards, Dan

Markv - That is what I have been hearing regarding when 2015 will be here in US. I agree they will have to get the 2013's, and 2014's sold first, but you can get a new 2013 Rspec for $40k, and i assume and hope the MSRP on the 2015 will be about $5k over the 2014 Rspec's $47k MSRP. So, maybe a Premium 2015 with 5.0L will MSRP about $53K???

Then if you just let the dealer know you will buy the 2015 (with a deposit down first) when they get them in, maybe you can get wholesale since they do not have to sit on it, and can order additional 2015's. I want the seat so bad, i really do not care to much about the color as long as the flooring is dark/black etc. Who knows ... will see.

I may actually sell my 2013 now and do a short term lease of 3-4 month for a car until 2015s come in. Blue Book finally got the 2013 Rspec in its data base. Up until a few weeks ago, Bluebook only had the Genesis 3.8L lislted in Bluebook (no Rspec at all). OK, lets see what happens. Regards, Dan

I don't know much about 2015 Genesis sedan trim levels or pricing for USA models. However, for 2012-2014 the only trim levels offered were:
  • V6 Base
  • V6 Premium Package
  • V6 Tech Package (includes Premium)
  • V8 R-Spec (comes standard with equivalent of Tech Package)
There currently is no V8 Premium trim level (although there was one in 2009). Just a wild guess on my part, but I think most 2015 trim levels will not be more than $3K over current prices, and maybe less. However, they "may" have one really high-end edition for USA market with a lot of KDM options.

I agree. I think $50k is a huge number for advertising purposes and I think only the AWD V8 (with Tech as standard) will crest $50k. Personally, I don't see them maintaining the R-spec name on the sedan, but that's nothing more than my own guess. The suspension was the biggest difference between the V8 and the V8R-Spec imo, and with the drive-mode settings that difference is mostly negated. It's also simply over-named for what it is, It should have been a "sport package" if it was ever going to be optional on the V8.

Don't get me wrong. If they continue the R-Spec it's most likely the trim I'll go for. I just don't think it's a good idea from a business perspective.

Now if they offer one with an OEM dual CAI, free-flowing moderately loud exhaust, Pilot super-sports on lightweight 19's or 20's, an Oil Cooler, and a 6 or 7-spd manual or dual-clutch that they've kept totally under wraps then sure, call it an R-Spec.

That trend is also happening at BMW. The 2014 5 series M-Sport option ($3,500) is now essentially cosmetic. In fact, after robust user complaints, the 704 M suspension was added, but not to the AWD cars. The upgraded performance adjustable suspension components are a separate, costly option. The once vaulted M designation is basically cosmetic on the F10 and requires thousands more to reach the previous performance extras.

Lost in horsepower and AWD for V8...hmmm

Blue Link from CES: Swing and a miss. $200 annually for this?! This can all be done through current phones and makes this added monthly cost a joke. It should have been designed to just pair with your mobile via bluetooth.

A local dealer here in South Florida stated yesterday that they won't have the 2015 Genesis until the fall. That just might be talk regarding they had a lot of 2013's & 2014's on the lot. They only had (1) RSPEC and that was a 2013. When asked about the price of the 2015's they did not no.

I want the RSPEC but not a 2013. Was planning on getting the 2014 RSPEC this coming March/April timeframe but after reading all the goodies the 2015 is coming out with, I might just have to bite the bullet when it comes out.

Has Hyundai confirmed yet that the 2015 model year will include an RSPEC? Has anyone been through the ordering process with a dealer? Just wanted to know how long it takes to get a vehicle when you order one with everything you want on it.

I don't think Hyundai has released info on trim levels or prices. Availability is expected to be 2Q 2014. Pretty sure that there will be at least one with a 5.0 V8, but not sure about R-Spec yet. AWD will also be an option on some models.

For current models, there are no options except for colors (and minor cosmetic stuff installed by dealer), just various trim levels: Base, Premium, Tech Package, R-Spec (includes Tech Package). AWD will be an option on some models. You cannot order one from the factory in Korea, but a dealer can try and reserve one that has already been scheduled for import by Hyundai Motor America.

This was in one of the blue-link preview pics on The Korean Car Blog. Notice the carbon-fiberish dash. That wasn't on any of the KDM's from what I saw.

There are obviously a couple in the US for auto shows, etc, but none expected at dealers until 2nd Quarter of 2014.

So I asked regarding release date tonight and the answer was only Spring. No more specific than that.
