Been here awhile...
Thank you for a very detailed report. Any update on delivery time for NA?
Bill - Thank you again for your specific reply to me regarding the power bolsters (I already sent you a thank you note before i saw your specific note regarding the power bolsters.I was given a walkaround of the 2015 Genesis today. I have written a complete review and its on the last page of this thread. But in response to your post, If you look at the lumbar support adjuster (the round button) you can see a little toggle on the bottom side of it. That little toggle switch controls the power side bolster. I addressed this specifically for you.
According to reporters who previewed the 2015 Korean version (in Korea), the new generation Genesis does shift faster. Some people who have driven the US version of 2014 Genesis say it also shifts a lot faster than before. Thanks for your review. So, headlight wise, the only option will be the lower end KDM single projector headlamp, correct? Also, any change in the transmission shifting mapping? Does it shift faster than before?
Thanks

katman - I have been trying to find out when the 2015 will be on sale here in the US also. One report i read said April, the other said Spring. If anyone finds out what the date is, please let us know. Regards, Dan.Thank you for a very detailed report. Any update on delivery time for NA?
PMC - Thats a good question regarding the steering wheel, thanks for asking the question. Actually since the seat has been lowered much more than the last generation G, getting to the steering wheel should be much easier due to being lower to the floor ---- the critical 'H' point as Genesis engineers refer to. But the steering wheel scope issue is still important and it should be better i assume since the Equus and the Azera telescoping travel is as designed.Bill,
The trunk/hood badges? Will there be wings or an "H " for the North American market? What about the steering wheel and wheel logos? Has Hyundai learned yet that we want a touch of luxury/snoot appeal there too?
Is there still an automatic rear sun shade?
One feature I like in the current G is that the front seat bolsters don't flare upward too much. That makes the seats more forgiving to butts of all sizes. Do the new seat bolsters intrude more on butt room? For example, I love the Jag XJ, but the seats are too narrow due to the bolster flaring. Americans are not getting narrower.
What about that damn ashtray? Is it gone yet or, at minimum, do they have a coin holder insert that can replace it?
Finally, please tell Dan Pearson, before he asks, does the new G have a better operating retractable steering wheel?

Hyundai has been telling the media for a long time that it will be in US in 2nd quarter of 2014. That would be April, May, or June. My dealer said they expect to have some by May. The date can vary by dealer, depending on how many 2013/2014 they still have in stock. It might also depend on how far a dealer is from a port of entry. I think it is up to dealers to decide on how many to get, and when to get them. Some dealers still do not have 2014's in stock, even though we know they are available.katman - I have been trying to find out when the 2015 will be on sale here in the US also.
