Correct. They are not in production yet. The final suspension tuning was only signed off on one month ago according to an engineer I spoke with. The KDM version was already on the road by that time. The guys here in the U.S. were still out there in the desert finalizing changes that included rubber bushings for the transmission mounts to isolate some of the feedback caused by bumps in the road. They have seven or eight prototype units here additional to show cars that are most likely all KDM versions mechanically. Aesthetically the car is set and will be what they showed us last week at HQ. I can't wait to pull one into my garage.

I don't know about the 2015, but previous versions of Genesis were tested at the Hyundai Research and Test facility in Southern California, and they also did the US suspension tuning there. The US suspension for the Genesis has been different than KDM versions, and I am not just talking about the optional air suspension on the KDM versions for 2009-2014. So not surprised that there are some 2015's around there or at corporate HQ. But the ones for dealers have not arrived yet.

I was thinking the same thing. The LED turn signals are with the dual projector lamps while the single projector uses a normal bulb. If we get single projector with LED's, then the lamps are specific to US and have not been shown yet.

I sure hope they at least bring the led turn signals on both the front and back if they aren't going to offer the actual led headlights yet.

I hope that's the case. I think the LED turns look much better, but I'm not sure what they would do with that medial light space.

Not sure if that would be better or worse. It would definitely look better most of the time, but I really like the brightness of the xenon high beam.

(I consider this a good thing, as the V8 model was significantly cheaper... this leaves plenty of room under $50k for a V8 model)
-The marketing guy said V6/V8/AWD would all release at the same time in the US in April or May (A couple other comments from other people made it sound like April was what they're shooting for).
-It does NOT have the LED turn signals or LED headlights. It has the KDM 3.0 headlights. It has the orange bulbs with the orange visible in the reflector that IMO are a downgrade from the current model and my only major gripe.
-No rear-entertainment was shown, as expected. The rear center armrest-thingy is simplified as a result. It wasn't clear, but it looked like there are only 3 buttons. (Makes me think L/R heated seats and power shade -- couldn't tell if they were rockers for heating and ventilation of the rears or not)
-8 Speed remains as expected
-I had never seen the feature listed this way, but the blindspot warning uses rear radar that will detect a car that is not yet in the way, but is approaching quickly... kind of a neat feature.
-The smart trunk made it to the US market as expected, the 5.0 that was used in the demonstration also had power closure.
-The Lexicon shares the K900's upgrade to 900 Watts, inverted sub, standard HD radio, etc...
-Power seems to be down (or the rating reduced to the reality of) 420 and 311 V8/V6 (I maintain crank power probably went up and they're now rating it more conservatively, but that's a total guess)
-Paddle shifters standard
-Wheels appear to carry over with the 5 tri-spoke wheels from the KDM :-/

Several comments were made about price, though no numbers were ever given. The phrase "can actually afford" and "maintaining... value proposition" were used. Combine this with probably eliminating the $1000 R-Spec markup, and the removal of lots of KDM goodies (why the headlights?!?!) Add back in a couple thousand bump for the new model and I wouldn't be surprised to see the 5.0 AWD at $49.9k.

Italia -- Hey, nice synopsis of the review.

Why wouldn't they at least open the darn door so we could see the seats that are already in every magazine out there. No mention at all regarding the redesigned lower and more articulated, and adjustable seats which Hyundai made a special YouTube video of. Just have to wait until April-May. Or go look at the K-900 seats that should be out before that. Regards.

I didn't see any specific mention of the steering wheel, but since they added it to the current USDM model for the last year I think it's likely to be standard on the new model. You can see the button for the heated steering wheel in the center console on what I'm assuming is the V8 interior.

Interestingly the Hyundai website now has the 2015 as a model that you can browse. It sends you to the same hyundaigenesis.com micro site. The odd part is that it lists HP as 425 again, not 420 as per everyone at Detroit. It also shows the car with dual projector headlights (probably a marketing mistake showing KDM)

Heck, I'll take the 5.0L with just RWD, and leave the other items off. I just want the new seat. The new 2013 I have is a great automobile, but it has antiquated structured seats vs adjustable seats with healthy bolsters on them ... in the case of the 2015 G, adjustable bolsters and articulated seats from what I have seen and others on the forum have experienced for themselves.

Mercy, I just want to be able to sit in a car and drive it without spinal twisting ordeal. Thanks for the info on the updated Hyundai site with the 2015 trim levels/etc. Regards.

I hear ya! I really wanted the horses and AWD and heated steering wheel so now a bit conflicted. A guess a test drive will be in order once they are available.

10-4 ... I'll take the horses and RWD, but not without the seats being up to the competition, and/or to common senses for a fine auto as the Genesis is. I love my Genesis, but cannot drive it in comfort due to the seats, period.

I just looked at the K-900 site since they are suppose to come out before the 2015 Genesis. From the site they only listed the V6, so not sure what is correct regarding how the cars will be equipped. Just will have to see when they come in, or my clock ticks out and forces me to go get a 535i which does have great seats if you get articulated seat option for $1300. I'd rather have the 2015 Genesis with its new seats, but not a word was mentioned about them in the review/unveiling today. Regards

That's right. I guess they assume that you only need those if you live in a cold climate and need AWD, and AWD is only available on V6.
