  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

2015 Hyundai Genesis Sedan Spy Photos

Darn nice car. If it had AWD option, I would consider it. After this winter in NE US, AWD is a must.

I have decided snow tires are a must. I could have been kidding my self as I badly wanted a V8 and those Brembo's...

Snow tires are definitely nice. I've made it through one of the snowiest winters in the country this year with rwd and snow tires. There were a couple times I had to change my route, but I've never gotten stuck. If I weren't planning on moving I would be upset by the lack of v8/AWD at launch.

This was new to me.

Your links don't work...

Whenever I think about "auto-braking", I always think about this:
Looks like they were supremely confident as they the media there with cameras going.

In the comments, there is a reference that an engineer forgot to turn off the "city driving" option, which disables the E-breaking.

If the automaker's engineer forgot to do that, how many owners would forget?

That was a condensed video. There was a longer version that shows how the system is supposed to work.

I think we know how it is supposed to work, as several new cars are now introducing it and are advertising (such as Hyundai during the Super Bowl). The Infiniti Q50 claims to be first car to hit the market that has this feature. These type systems are made by same companies who supply the ABS brake systems, etc, such as Continental Automotive, the same supplier who provided the 2009-2014 Genesis ABS system (and probably 2015).

Hasn't Mercedes had this out since around 2010 with Distroinic?

I am not sure. I was just quoting a recent Infiniti Q50 commercial I saw on TV that claimed they are first to hit the market. Several car makers have had adaptive cruise control (including Genesis) but maybe none of those will bring the car to a complete stop?

I am mistaken, and the world's first on the Q50 is something different"

"More noteworthy than the Q50's powertrains, however, is the world's first production steer-by-wire hardware that enables -- you guessed it -- the Q50 to steer itself. Direct Adaptive Steering is available as part of the $3,100 Touring Package and works with other optional driver-assistance systems to help keep the Q50 in its lane and, under certain circumstances, tracking along with gently curving roadways."
