  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

2015 Hyundai Genesis Sedan Spy Photos

Plenty of fog in western and eastern Maryland too.

Love the LED fog lights....

And I wanted heated rear seats and steering wheel :( Maybe we'll get lucky and they will all be warrantied dealer options that way we can get them while Hyundai doesn't have to include their price in advertising?

Not sure how a heated steering wheel and seats can be dealer installed. Will be tough.

It wasn't a real expectation, just an optimistic hyperbole. It's definitely possible though. I've seen dealer-installed sunroofs on brand-new Hondas and IMO that's much more involved.

My source that the US Version 3.8 Liter 2015 Hyundai Genesis Sedan will NOT have fog lights as EVEN an option, was Derek Joyce, Manager of Hyundai Public Relations, based out of Orange County, CA.

The 2015 Sonata has fog lights and the 3.8 Genesis does not.

Sometimes Hyundai is really dumb.

Just curious-Did Derek Joyce refer you to the list of standard features and options that has been published online for some time now or did he in a written email tell tell that there will not be fog lights on 3.8?

Right. Similarly the Elantra, Sonata, and Azera all have a heated back seat and the Genesis 5.0 does not.

I get that they have a price envelope, but they're not even option-covering well vs their own brand. There shouldn't be any feature groupings that Elantra/Sonata/Azera have that don't make it to the Genesis unless they're intentionally kitschy in the first place.

The best part is that V6 with fogs, and V8 with heated rear seats and steering wheel are all available on the 2014 with some of them just having been added.

That is a good example of what makes no sense for the projected 2015 models. To add a heated steering wheel to the short run 2014 R-Spec as one of the only changes from 2013, and then apparently remove it in 2015 is either wrong info or some strange marketing and economic decisions.

They have some glaring errors on the microsite, but I'm not holding out much hope as this has been repeated a few places. The microsite labels cashmere leather as ivory, and says something specific about the 9.2HD nav screen on a pic of a base model. They also have pictures of a KDM front end with the 19's labeled as 5.0. They also have a pic with the medium-brown leather color they're not offering to demonstrate the rear sunshade. It's still a total mess.

Edit: And these are the same advertising people who also had the HP listed at 425 on the microsite for a while. Let's hope they're not the same people making the decisions about what is being offered.

My hope is that they are saving these items for an RSPEC version coming out later this year (I hope...)

Derek e-mailed me directly that there won't be fog lights on the U.S. version 3.8 liter 2015 Hyundai Genesis Sedan.

ronreal-Thanks for clarification. Still a bitter pill to swallow. Others waiting for possible release of RSpec. Not sure how that model would differ from planned offering of 5.0 RWD. Maybe 5.0 AWD...with fog lights, heated steering wheel and heated rear seats.....

I'm sorry, but I just don't believe Hyundai would omit such features. Every one of the vehicles in Hyundai's current lineup, with the exception of the Accent, has rear heated seats. If Hyundai can make a business case to have heated seats in the Elantra, surely they can have them in the Genesis. Ditto that for the heated steering wheel. That feature was just added to the Sonata. I have to believe it will be available for the Genesis. The thought that the Genesis won't have fog lights(whether LED or otherwise) is mind-boggling to say the least. I don't doubt that is the information that was given, I just can't bring myself to believe such they product planners would be so stupid not to include them, even though none of this would effect me as I plan on purchasing the 5.0. I think that I'm going to stay away from this thread until there is an announcement from Hyundai.

Guys (and girls). As a member of the Hyundai Think Tank I have been selected to join Hyundai for the official launch of the 2015 Genesis in Scottsdale, Arizona at the Sanctuary Resort all expenses paid next weekend April 4th through April 6th. First of all, thank you Hyundai. Things like this should encourage all of you to join the Hyundai Think Tank. The point is, if there are any outstanding questions, please email me at bill.fisher@outlook.com and I will answer them personally and/or on this site. I will have the opportunity to drive the car for hours and should be able to answer anything you need to know.

Thanks Bill-submitted my questions via email. Looking forward to hearing from you after that weekend.

I completely agree on the features comments, but you respond as if this information is coming from forum members themselves. While some confirmation and correlation has been from us, the information is on Hyundai's press release from Detroit and it's on the microsite.

I really hope you're right on the features, I originally made the argument about the cuts not making sense several pages ago. Info directly from Hyundai suggests otherwise.
