2015 Hyundai Genesis Sedan Spy Photos

Always,
What kind of discounts are you anticipating. Im probably am in the same boat. I'll have to wait patiently until they are discounted too.

Always is speaking of some special discount, not the normal discount that should occur at the dealership. He does not seem to want to elaborate or I missed the explanation why some guy named Derek owes him a factory discount.

My story is somewhat similar. I initially wanted a used Genesis. I finally found one I really liked at a dealer not far from me. I scheduled a test drive. The next day, I set out for the test drive inly to find I have a flat tire. No good spare so I wait for the tow truck and for the tire to get plugged. I finally get to the dealership, only to find the Genesis was just sold. The guy was transfering his things from his old car to "my" Genesis as I pulled up. I decide to wait a little longer. I get around to testing a 2012 Genesis and really like it, but the deal falls apart. The next week, I lose my job. Fast-forward to 2013 and I see all the spy shots of the 2015 Genesis and I'm intrigued. I decide to wait to see if I would like the 2015 Genesis more and I do! I cant wait to test drive the 2015 Genesis

Your story is very similar. I too can't wait to test drive one. It won't be too long now. :)

The forenamed Derek could be promising discounts like the active military discount. Also, when I bought my Genesis, I got a discount because I was coming from a Honda Accord, plus another discount for buying by the end of 2011. Getting back to Derek, he probably failed to mention that dealers will likely be adding items to the window sticker that will be inflating the sticker price. Things like wheel locks, trunk mats and more will appear on the window price. Finally, if sales are really hot, an extra "hot item" charge will be added to the window price.

ksoze

I have been in contact with Derek Joyce at Hyundai Motor America since February discussing my future purchase of the new Genesis. He is the Public Relations Manager. He told me once the 2015 Genesis comes out to email him and he will get me the Factory Discount.

I emailed him last night and asked if he could give me a time frame as to when the new Genesis will hit the South Florida car dealers and he stated early May.

He stated that I would have to wait until the inventory is built back up after the initial release before I can get the discount. He stated that it would be approx. 2 months after they hit the lots.

guys, I have been following this thread since the beginning. I've been dying to upgrade from my 2012 3.8 Tech to the brand spanking new 2015.

Well...I just sold my 2012 yesterday and bought a Chevy of all things!

Hold off on judgement, it is an Australian import.

For 47k MSRP you get a fully loaded car, there are no options.

You get HUD (color), you get touch screen Navi, you get 4 Piston BREMBO'S, you get a magical suspension that is super sporty yet soaks up all the baddest bumps.

How about a V8, 415hp/415 torque? YES, YOU GET THAT.

You get 19" forged rims, exact same tread size as the 5.0 Genesis.

So, as crazy as I sounded on the Acura forums when I sold an RL to buy a Genesis, I am just giving you guys a heads up that something else caught my eye and it might be worth your time too.

Cadillac makes a similar car, calls it CTS VSport, save your self 25k and get the 2014 Chevy SS.

Or flame me while I enjoy 0 delay in power and 13mpg!

The SS is nice

What on Earth are you talking about?

3.8 Base vs Base went from 35.2k to 38k. That's an increase of $2800 raw... however the base 3.8 now has the nav that was previously part of the premium package at added cost as standard, so the EFFECTIVE increase is more like $~1500.

5.0 Rspec vs 5.0 Base went from 47.4k to 51.5k. That's a difference of $4100. Now the '14 Rspec came with the top Nav and the 17 speaker lexicon system (which have both been moved to the ultimate package on the '15). The heated steering wheel and heated rear seat that were also standard on the RSpec are not included in either 5.0 package. If anything I was being too nice because IMO the '14RSpec would slot between the '15 5.0 and the '15 5.0 Ultimate once you take out standard evolutionary changes.

TLDR: Learn to math and learn what vitriol means while you're at it.

I'm going to explain this one more time because I am really getting tired of replying to asinine posts. You are comparing the price of the '14 3.8 with the premium package to the base price of the '15 Genesis and are then looking at the base price of the '15 5.0 compared to the '14 RSpec and are charting a larger increase. As I've said, this doesn't make any sense. The options packages have been revised across both engine lines and the 5.0 includes two of the 3.8 options as standard equipment. Of course there is a disparity in price. Optioned out, the '15 3.8 and '14 3.8 are much further away than just $1500. The fact that the heated steering wheel and heated rear seats arent available on the '15 5.0 is irrelevant as you can't even get those options on the '15 3.8 without opting for AWD.

TLDR: You should really practice not being an ******* for a change and also investing in a dictionary. Apparently you're the one who doesn't know what vitriol means.

The SS is nice, but it really isn't much of a comparison to the '15 Genesis. The SS might be loaded for a Chevy at $47K, but it still lacks features found on the Genesis. The interiors aren't even close and I would never buy another Australian import from GM as the last one they brought over was a lemon. Good luck to you, though. It really is a nice car.

you are comparing a Genesis you don't have to a car you've never had based on a bad experience from a car that came out over 5 years ago?

I think I'm going to ignore that comment due to lack of substance.

But everyone else, please chime in!

and I never said the Chevy was a luxury cruiser, it's a performance Sedan with a nice interior.

I was specifically promised when I joined this forum that there was no math required.

looks just like the new Sonata but with different tail lights. could be the US version. honestly I don't think there's room for a FWD car above the Azera which already competes well against the ES. isn't a new Cadenza just around the corner? the Cadenza's already better than the newer Azera. the next generation will probably have updated engine/tranny and even more luxury. and what about the 3-series competitor/smaller Genesis coming out as well? with the Genesis increasing in price, a new Equus also out in a couple years, the smaller Genesis, Genesis coupe and the rumored SUV, I think that's enough vehicles under the "Genesis" brand. how many cars can you have that start between $30-$40k?

WOW. Just wow. Please read my post before replying to it. I clearly listed what was being compared to what and it's simply not what you've incorrectly accused me of multiple times. I compared base to base, as stated clearly.

As for the heated rear seat and steering wheel... again you make the most ridiculous assertions. I don't care what it's packaged with on the V6. The point is that it used to be standard on the V8 and it's no longer available on the V8 even with the "ultimate" package. That's a mark against the '15, especially given a >$4k price increase to the model it was previously available on.

People who feel the need to comment nonsensically in response to my posts while making it clear they either cannot read or simply chose to reply without doing so calling me names.... priceless.

If you really think you're not making things up clearly list what you're trying to compare and the prices you're using. Base vs base, loaded vs loaded, etc.

The SS is nice

I agree that it's nice. I would add that I think it's a good value. I just wouldn't cross-shop them myself. I'm looking for "luxury sedan that can perform" more than "performance sedan with luxury" if that makes any sense.

Uh, it's basically the same car. The mechanicals that were in the G8 I owned ae same in the SS. I, among others, had terrible luck with the G8. I was basing my opinion off of sitting in both cars. The SS simply doesn't stack up. There are hard plastics anywhere there isn't fake suede. I really don't understand the negative response.

Look again. The rear legroom is down, but the front legroom is up. Really the loss in rear legroom is around 2". If that doesn't satisfy you, I'm curious where you would be shopping for your next car as those legroom measurements are par for the course in this class. That was a real question, not trying to be a smart ass.

With the price of the new 5.0 rising over 10G's and the loos of rear leg room, I'll probably just keep this one for a while. Hopefully my daughter will be moving out of the house in a couple of years. If so, then I won't need another family car and can go with a 2 seater. ;)

I got to agree with Larry on this one, being I went from a G8 to a Genessis as well. The new SS is just a rebadged Holden, same as the G8 was. No comparison to the Genney, the SS is a few classes lower.

Good luck with the new Chebby, 037! Be sure to check out the ignition switch. Will you "de-bow tie" the front and rear badges?

The chassis tuning is very different, check out the re views. Can't comment on older G8 interior but I feel right at home as far as interior in the SS and my wife likes the driving experience much more as the car is more responsive and has a more predictable handling feel as well as awesome braking feel. So whoever said they weren't in the same class, as far as performance goes Genesis is miles behind.

Thanks for the sarcasm, after I went Hyundai I got endless grief from Acura guys so I was well prepared this time. Did you notice any Holdens as part of the recall? BTW, I cant hang any keys on my start button and I am going to keep the Chevy symbols, enjoy having my car being mistaken for a Malibu, impala and what not. High performance without tickets, that's the good stuff.

Not sure why one would think it was a Malibu or Impala, other than maybe the chevy emblem. The body style is very reminisent of the Pontiac G8/Holden commodore.

Glad you like it. Hopefully they have fixed the issues that plagued the G8. But given GM's track record, I doubt it. They kept ignoring them on the G8. I finally returned mine under the lemon law. Others did the same.

I did enjoy mine, but got tired of the unresolved issues. I like my Genney better though.
