  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

New V8 2015 with less than 1K miles... Check engine light came on and email from bluelink regarding possible condition with your Engine Control System...
on top of that previous day the Airbag light came on... Thats two lights in less than 1 month of use/1K miles...

Taking it to Hyundai dealership this afternoon to drop off.

Has this happened to anyone else? What might I expect?

Crying right now on the inside...

Make sure your gas cap is securely fastened.

I will do so immediately. Filled tank up last Friday, light came on Tuesday morning... but I will go check right now. That doesn't take care of Airbag light though.

Thanks!

Usually just re tightening the won't clear the check engine light, even if that was the original cause. Need the OBDII tool.

Or you can disconect battery and that will clear it . The battery is located in the trunk under mat on pasanger side. Mac8

The cap seemed tight when I checked it. Hard to tell. One click... Still have to bring it in for my Airbag sensor light...

I had the whole front/hood clear bra'd. EAS in Colorado Springs - Amazing Work... Neveretheless, could that process effect the airbag sensors? Once again, clear bra been on a 2 weeks, sensor just went off yesterday. What about playing music especially heavy bass at loud volumes. Jar an airbag sensor possibly...

I LOVE this car, but these little issues at 1K miles...C'mon Man. LMAO

Another note - Winter Tires - Get them... just make sure with the V8/huge rims that you have Hyundai put them on. I went to Firstone and they scracthed my shit, all four Getting them repaired on Firestones dime.

I will let you ALL know how ALL this Sh*t turns out...

I've got a 2013 R-Spec which has the same engine as your 2015 V8. This is my experience with the Check Engine Light: http://genesisowners.com/hyundai-genesis-forum/showpost.php?p=160575&postcount=4

Dropped car off at dealership this afternoon. Keeping my fingers crossed! On a pleasant note, they gave me a ride back home and I can drive my FR-S. Let's hope for no snow in Colorado...

I'll post, keep you'll updated. Thanks for help everyone!

So... Was gas cap... Dealer recommends more than just one click... like three... Take note, sensor did not go off until 1/4 off gas remained in gas tank. So if happens to anyone else, I was quater full to one-third.

As for Airbag sensor, a warrenty item that has to be replaced. Have to wait one day for shipment...

Thanks Guys!

I also read that! But if you go more than one click, ensures you went one click. As oppose to going to one click but then not making it there at all... Maybe two clicks... live and learn

I thought I remember reading "One click only"... Again, can't seem to find that anywhere now. Tough getting old :D
