  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

2016 Genesis News?

honestly, you know more about the genesis than the person selling it to you. You can also rely on the salesperson to give you no useful information about when the 2016s will actually arrive. Some are actually good sales people but unfortunately most are not.

+100!

Speaking of inventory, is the searchable inventory on a typical dealer's web site usually accurate, or do they have cars not listed there? I don't want to contact a dealer till they actually have 2016's in stock to avoid the above mentioned hounding.

I've found it isn't always accurate. In particular, I've found that the dealers are slow to report when they sell a vehicle, and thus the Hyundai inventory site will still show cars that they've sold months ago. I believe this is deliberate to drive customer contact.

What I did when I was searching for mine was search Hyundai's site, then I went directly to the dealer's website which was usually up-to-date.

I would not "always" blame it on the salesperson. If the dealership has a lot of 2015's to move out, they Sales Manager may not tell the sales staff when the 2016's are coming, as he wants them to concentrate on moving the existing inventory.

I would not even bother asking the dealers at this point as they want to sell you a 2015 they have in inventory. Besides, Hyundai already told us the 2016's are coming in November in the press release issued last week. HMA told me the same thing about a week before that - so for those waiting, it will likely be just a few more weeks.

Agreed. I would just check the dealer website inventory list.

I found that the Hyundai search function was not accurate at all. What I did is created an Microsoft Outlook Task file and had a link to every Hyundai dealer in a 200 mile radius from my location and during lunch on a daily basis I would check those dealer sites. It took me a few months but I finally found the color combo I was looking for and got it.

It was on "Google Alerts"? I have seen nothing else about dropping the Ultimate Package from the 3.6 Genesis. Even the Brochure shows the package. The article did state a release date of the second week of November. We shall see.:)

This should put that rumor to rest.

I don't think anyone really thought the V6 Ultimate was discontinued. It is in their 2016 brochure.

What is interesting is that it shows that the car was sold to a dealer in NJ. Many do not understand that HMA sells the cars to dealers, and they don't just "show up" on the dealer lots. HMA and the dealers are separate entities. So the question of when the 2016's arrive, may depend on when a particular dealer wants them, which depends to some degree on how many 2015's they still have on their lots.

Right - but this shows that that 2016's are now actually released/available for the dealers to purchase from HMA. So anyone wanting a 2016 should now be able to purchase one from their local dealer (may still have to wait a bit to actually get it).

Yep. But is has always just been a matter of time, since someone on this forum reported a month ago that the 2016 Genesis' were arriving at Hyundai ports of entry and were being prepped by HMA (where they add on options such as floor mats, trunk mats, put sticker on the window, etc).

So the 14 speaker option is no longer available? Used to be part of the signature package.
I think you are reading too much into the sticker. The above sticker is obviously an Ultimate Package with 17-speaker system, and it would be confusing to also mention the 14-speaker system in the description of the other packages on that particular car.

Right - spec sheets say the 14 speaker system is still there at signature package level. My 2015 3.8 AWD Ultimate window sticker showed the same - it only listed the 17 speaker system under the Ultimate Package section.

Oh good point. Sorry, it was late.
