  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

2017/2018 radio swap in 2016 ultimate?

So can we do the same things that he did ?

If so,what parts that need change or

replace....and how much will it cost?
That's what some dedicated people here are trying to figure out... The language barrier is tough & Google translate can only get you so far.

it can be done, currently not cost effective. He got a cheap head unit (like mine) and then one of his relatives sourced a free Lexicon amp for him.

it will work with just those two changes.

So, from what I understand you just need an amp in order for you to get everything working perfectly

am I right?

Hello~~

Have a question?

I am the owner of Genesis DH 2016Y ..

For Android Auto and Car Play

I replaced one head unit and amplifier and added wiring.

The cost of the new article in Korea

G80 16 96560 B19124X 96560F Head Unit Assembly-AVN 1ea KoreaMoney 2,198,900 won
G80 16 96 370 B1600 96 370N External amplifier assembly 1ea KoreaMoney 1,522,400 won..
New Parts... USD total : 2350.00
Used Parts total .... about 900,000 won or 1,000,000 won...

LCD and jog dial USB terminals are compatible.

And.....

The connector of the amplifier is different.
So the connector needs to be modified.

You will also need to add 5 wires from the head unit.

The work took 9 hours.
Connect the connector wires
Position problem bracket of amplifier.

Success and I'm using Android Auto.
There are so many good things.

Hard to install amplifier
The brackets don't fit. Drilling ... Extra bolts. Nuts.

But the result is good ...

I guess I should start looking at the audio routing software on the G80 head unit and see if I can patch it back to the previous generation outputs. It would be nice to not have to run new wiring and connectors.

Yeah... having to obtain H/U & amp, then rewiring kinda falls out of the scope of the original project.

Yeah..that’s a great Idea

this new update looks pretty great 👍🏻
I think this update is available only for Korean cars !

Well, Genesis is Korean :giggle: It would be nice to get updates and features you get in Korea or EU such as back monitors or vented back seats.... Noticed that you also get nice high gloss wood trim.

How much more would you be willing to pay to have those features? I'd guess it would ad $300 to $500 to the sticker.

I would be willing to pay that with no problem. But I think it wouldn't be just $500 extra.

Would be nice as an option. We all have different situations. In my case, they would probably never be used but would be nice to have if you often have back seat passengers. I wonder how they come up with the decisions of what to add in or not.

I chose to pay for AWD because I lived in snow territory; really like it too. Now that I moved 1400 miles south, no need for it or the heated steering wheel.

I would probably never use it but it would be cool to be given the option when building your car. Not sure about the AWD but heated steering wheel is a must in my car (even if I lived in FL :) )
