If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. Aftermarket Subs in Genesis?

I feel like I'm talking to myself at this point, but does anyone have experience with the SOEM-T PAC LOC that has the auto sensing remote? I thought I'd give it a try before going with standard LOC and remote line that runs up to the fuse box.

I'm watching your posts:) I had mine done so long ago I don't remember much for the details. Battery in truck, remote wire front passenger is pretty much all I remember. The dash didn't get molested one bit since lined with the factory sub.

I tapped into the leads going from the amp to the sub. No need to remove the seat. The four wires far right in the photos are the right and left + and - speaker leads. No need to know which is right and which is left for the sub of course.
Light brown lead in the middle of the connector should be the signal to power on your amp. I not sure because although I did tap it for the power on signal my amp autosenses the high level inputs and switches on.

Please consult the wiring diagrams online at the Hyundai service site yourself to confirm. In my case the wires were different colors than the diagrams indicated Good luck!

Almost forgot photo of finished project:

Skar 8" 4ohm dual voice coil speaker in a sealed box powered by kenwood 900W amp

Won't win a contest but huge upgrade in sound. Didn't lose much trunk space either ;)

Thanks, man. Appreciate the input.

Edit: OK, i managed to remove the right interior paneling and got to the where I now have access directly to the OEM amplifier - the harness looks exactly like yours. I looked on HMAService.com but I can't find a wiring diagram for the amp harness. Care to share where you looked? Which color were the wires you tapped? Thanks again for all your help.

My colors were different from the colors shown in the wiring diagram. But as I said the far left 4 wires are the two pairs for the sub. Black and brown are negative and yellow and white are positive. The matched pairs are opposite each other on the connector

Here she is. It looks like the middle 4 go to the woofer and the left four feed the rear door speakers. Should be easy to tap. Getting excited now. :D

Just be aware that the pin numbers for the four "middle" wires shown there near the blue rectangle and should map out on the connector to the last four. Also although my wires were those colors at least one pair was reversed.

Thanks. Yes, I noticed the 8th page of the ETM for the audio system had the pin-outs for the amp plug. I printed this and the amp page off so I can make sure I'm grabbing the right wire by pin number rather than color. The amp wires are the square cluster on the far left as you mention.

This is going to be a lot easier than the guesswork that went into splicing my ECU wires to install an SAFC on my Elantra. Also, less chance that I render my car inoperable. :)

Well, that was pretty easy. Took about 2.5 hours after removing the paneling to get to the stock amp.

Parts used:
- 10" Rockford Fosgate 150w RMS R1 Prime
- Boss Audio R1100M Monoblock Amp (250w RMS; but measured at around 140w RMS according to reviewers)
- PAC SOEM-T LOC (remote turn on trigger so i didn't have to run wires up front)
- Boss Installation Kit

Everything together was about $165 shipped from Amazon. Sounds great!

Photo is a bit dark so I'll need to shoot another tomorrow. The flash on my iPhone makes it look ever worse.

Nice.

Where did you tap the power and ground for the PAC LOC?

Where is the amp located?

The PAC loc power and ground are simply tied into their counterparts on the amp, which made things simple.

Stock amp behind the paneling on the right in the trunk. It wasn't too difficult at all to access and the pin diagram on hmaservice was spot on.

Here are some better pics of the finalized product with the wires concealed a bit better. I also ran a remote gain control up to the underside of the driver dash.

Is the subwoofer box mounted or rather wedged in place? I wedged mine in place but decided to add some angle mounts for what that's worth. I have little doubt it won't come loose in a collision but should handle stoplight grand prix ok.

It's wedged pretty tightly for the time being. Yeah it might come loose in a wreck but I think I'm safe otherwise.

Hey guys I'm new to this so bare with me if I sound naive. I have a 2009 Genesis sedan 3.8 but not sure if it has the LExicon system or not. I have door speakers and the sub in the back. No rear deck speakers just the subs.
Does anyone know if this comes with the factory amplifier? If so, where is it located?

sounds like my 2012 3.8, which has 7 speakers. 4 up front (2 normal+2 tweeters) and 3 in the back (2 in the doors and 1 sub behind the middle seat).

Yes, it has an amplifier in the trunk behind the carpet paneling on the right side. See where the wires comes out on my previous pick.

Thanks for the quick response. Do you have instructions on how I can access it and which wires to connect for my apt? I'm currently getting my signal from the woofer but an installer said i was using the wrong signal cause my bass is really baffled.

Currently have:
1 mono Powerbass amp
2 12" woofers

I have the amp hidden in the spare tire compartment with a crossover and a capasitor. I'm getting the remote power for both from the fuse box on the passenger side.

Well, i'm getting my signal from the sub too, only at the amp output. There's nothing baffled about it. Maybe installer error?

I don't really have a guide for getting to the amp. I just knew where it was based on others' pictures and set about getting to it. You just have to remove the various fasteners that hold the carpeting on the left inside portion of the trunk

If you sign up at HMAService.com the go to the ETM page there is a pinout for the amp wire harness. Feel free to send me a PM if you need help navigating.

thanks for the info zielritter i will give it a shot this weekend. i'm not sure why i'm having so much issues with this car. I've used this amp and woofers in my previous car and it had major bass. but i had an after market stereo in my other car and was getting a direct sub output.
