  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I use this stuff: http://www.detailedimage.com/Ask-a-Pro/leatherique-prestine-clean-product-review/

I've been using it for about 6 years now and it works great on just about everything. The only thing I have not been able to use it on was when I detailed a buddy's King Ranch F250.

Follow the directions from that link and you will be golden.

King Ranch is made of high end saddle leather. I have one... Use only Equestrian systems for the KR. Which is easy since we are into Hunter Jumper discipline (what you see at Olympic Games).. We have to protect expensive tack and saddles.

I used a mixture of Johnson's baby shampoo and warm water to extract dirt and then I followed it up with some Leather CPR that I purchased at Bed Bath & Beyond. After that, I used the King Ranch conditioner--which happens to be the same thing as Durogloss' 221 Leather Conditioner. Leatherique does not work well with unsealed leather like that found in a King Ranch vehicle so I had to do a bit of research to find a solution.

I'm from Kingsville actually with a family history deeply rooted in the King Ranch. I know just about all there is to know about the King Ranch...the good and the bad ;)

Good ideas on the deep wash for KR... Yes, the Ford product is very good too. The F350 KR is amazing. The seats are some of the best one can sit in anywhere.

Can I have your autograph? :). Cool info on your background. Any lurid or 50 Shades type stories that matches your wink smiley face? 😱

What year 350 do you have?

Haha, most of the stories involve how the land was acquired, family connections, etc. For example, if you go back far enough in time, my family were the original land owners for what is now the King Ranch---all from Spanish Land Grants. Of course, land ownership transferred through the years, and that is where most of the stories originate. Too involved to discuss on here haha.

I wonder if any land grants exist anymore. From US or other states

2008 bought new

After reading the directions i am confused. Is this just a cleaner for light interiors or can i use it on my dark interior as well?

For any color. I use it on my Genesis and my 550i both of which have black interiors.

Re: Beige interior?

Zero issues since last September when I bought my car. I had the same worries before getting mine but am happy I did as it was my color of choice. You won't be disappointed.

Re: Beige interior?

Over the years, a few people have complained about wearing blue jeans and a little bit of the blue color transferring to the seat. Probably not a problem with well-worn jeans, but watch out for newer ones.

👆 ditto.. Have experienced this first hand..

Re: Beige interior?

Agree, I also have had light staining with dark colored blue jeans. So far it has been easy to clean using Meguiars Leather Cleaner which I also use on the beige leather on my F-150:)

We bought our 2012 Genny new in June 2011. Until a couple of weeks ago, I had not cleaned leather much other than 'wipe downs'...I noticed the leather was looking a bit slick and had a blushish tint from jeans....in any case, I just did a YouTube search for cleaning and taking care of the leather and all I needed to know I found here from a pro who details very expensive cars:

I got some top quality leather cleaner and a few detailing brushes and had the leather looking like new in a few minutes.

Coming up on one year of ownership and still no issues with picking the Beige color.

I HAD no issues untill I replaced my old jeans with new ones. In the last few months the drivers seat got really blue and decided to clean it up this morning on my Ivory interior. I am a boating guy and have my dirty little secrets when it comes to cleaning vinyl. I have used this tuff for years on the boat and decided to try it on the blue stains. All gone in a couple of minutes. :D This stuff is really amazing. Now this is a cleaner, not a conditioner so you might want to rub in some conditioner after cleaning. Product is best used with a magic eraser. Simply spray some on the eraser, wipe area down lightly and absorb the remainder with a scott towel, done deal. http://www.defender.com/product3.jsp?path=-1|10918|2303285|2303296&id=1783475

Just remember that a magic eraser is abrasive - it works like super fine sandpaper. So go easy!

I know and do have experience with using this product. You barely apply any pressure and it all comes off instantaneously. Really a great product.

I have used it on my boat seats on occasion too (when careless mechanics left a mess) - but it is actually not recommended for use on vinyl and continual, repeated use can eventually damage a surface. Just a warning to those who may not know how it actually works.
