  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

What kind of conditioner do you use with the Ivory interior. The only time I get in my Genny is when I just got out of the shower and my clothes just came from the washing machine . Never use the car otherwise!! Keep it clean ,why someone would be so hard on a beautiful interior/car is beyond me!

I use a multitude of car cleaning products, but for the interior, I mainly use Car Guy's Super Cleaner for most all-purpose stuff (dash, doors, etc.) and for the seats I start with Trinova Leather Cleaner followed by their Leather Conditioner, which I've been pretty happy with so far. My intentions, as I'm sure for most of us with the Ivory seats, is to keep them looking nice and bright and not discolored. I've only used the conditioner twice in the almost 4 mos I've had her and it's holding up well.

I don't like the look of a light colored interior because the color schemes are usually busy. I prefer an all black interior which I find to be more stately and serene.

"Stately" may be a good word for describing the black interior. Personally, I've had all-black interiors so have nothing against them, but btdt. The biggest benefit to me is you don't see how dirty they get lol.

On the other hand, the Ivory interior is elegant and uplifting, and I've yet to have anyone get into my Genny and not go "wow" immediately - seems to be the first word uttered each and every time. Hence why we have choices, to each their own.

I find home made solutions work a bit better than the commercial leather cleaners - although must say - what works for my car might not work for you , therefore test it first .

A little bit of vinegar in water for regular car seat cleaning - once a month.
Vacuum the car interiors - once a month
I've once used little bit of toothpaste on a seat stain - it worked.

I also use meguiar leather cleaner - once 4 - 6 months.

Thanks for the advice. I think the ivory interior is awesome!

I use Blue Magic leather conditioner, however my issue is more related to physical damage caused by friction to the ivory colored seats which is hard to repair or hide.

Thanks carguy75, I have some stuff for the leather couch, but was kind of sceptical using it on the Ivory. Thanks for your input

Don't think I need to remind you, Kraig, but you'll wanna test it in an inconspicuous area first. Last thing you want is your Ivory to turn Brown on you.

I turned in my '15 Genesis with the light gray interior at lease end in August and bought a certified '17 Kia Cadenza Limited with Ivory Napa leather to replace it.

It's a very nice car (although it's FWD) and it has most of the bells and whistles my '15 Ultimate did (it is lacking active steering Lane Keep Assist and front parking sensors), plus a few that it didn't (360 degree Surround View Camera, heated steering wheel (very nice), and heated rear seats).

Anyway, the seats in this car are pristine now, but I'd like to make sure that they stay that way

There's a YouTube video about using dollar store Woolite to clean leather seats :

The guy takes 15 minutes to cover 2 and a half minutes of content, but that's par for the course on YouTube.

Thoughts?

I am looking at purchasing this 2015 5.0, and it looks great other than this stain on the dash. Does anyone know if this would be able to come out? It is the beige interior.

These are just pics from the dealer and I have not yet seen in person, and I'm not sure what caused it.

Who knows, depends on what it is. I do know that if I was the dealer I'd have cleaned them before taking photos to send to a customer. Based solely on that observation they may not be easily removed. If you can live with it and later find they can be removed it is a bonus, otherwise, best to pass.

Yeah it is hard to tell without knowing what caused the stain. It is from CarMax so if I do end up getting it, I was going to take it to an auto detailer during their 7-day return period to see if its something that could be removed or not. I'm sure they at least tried to get it out before listing it though which does worry me.

Worst case scenario it could be painted over maybe?

Or worst worst case replace that part of the dash, although I was trying to find the part to replace for that and I believe it would be quite expensive, I think you may have to replace the entire lower dash, which doesn't seem worth it.

Looking at at again. . . . from the shape I wonder if it was tape stuck to it. Maybe you can put a phone mount to hide it, or your wife's purse, or box of tissues, or breath mints, or coin holder, or fire extinguisher, or first aid kit, or litter bag, coffee creamer. morning paper, outgoing mail, grocery list.

Looks very nice, I really like this!

Re: Beige interior?

Over the years, a few people have complained about wearing blue jeans and a little bit of the blue color transferring to the seat. Probably not a problem with well-worn jeans, but watch out for newer ones.
Very true!
