Maybe I'm reading this wrong. You do NOT want it to downshift when you floor it? Usually it does that to maintain the optimal RPM and acceleration. Or is it not shifting to the gear of your choice?
You read it correctly. I want a full manual mode where I am in charge of which gear it's in. I want to feel the full natural powerband through my gear of choice. In addition to this, you also get that split second delay for it to downshift instead of getting that power instantly, even though it would be at a very slight mechanical disadvantage by not downshifting. Nevermind the fact that the 3.3's HP peaks around 5.5k, and the rpms above that are declining in power.
Perhaps someday there will be a workaround for this. Some of us love manual transmissions for little reasons like this. Oh well, I knew this coming in to this car, but I still love it despite its *one* fault.
