  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

flutter @ 25-30mph

I have the same issue but I bought the car couple weeks ago and I love it so much that I am not ready to drive a loaner yet... I will definitely bother them about this and the startup rattle.

So was the shaft assembly propeller the fix for this noise? Is there any more updates from Rojo2223?

I had the fluttering noise on my '16 2WD 3.8.
Dealer replaced a "49100-B1100 Shaft Assy-Propeller."
It's been a week; the noise is gone.

Just an update on mine since its been a few months. The Flutter noise has not come back yet but the vibration when making hard turns that I also had with mine is coming back and more frequently. I'm assuming it's just a matter of time before the flutter comes back as well since it's getting cold out again.

I also noticed the vibration on harder turns and slow speeds with slight acceleration...

I have an appointment with my local dealership for tomorrow to listen to the noise from my 2015 Genesis. My fear is that the car will be warmed up enough that the noise won’t duplicate until it gets cold again which is when I hear it the most.
I’ll be taking the service receipts posted here on the forum to help back up my service request and get the work done without the back and forth and multiple visits.

No joy from the dealership. "Sorry but we were unable to duplicate the problem" They also said they can't use any of the documentation I printed out from this forum to diagnose my car problem. Kinda what I expected anyway. I'll try again later in the year.

Wow, go to different dealership. Also, make recordings.

I had the video with me, showed them, they agreed but......they could not duplicate the noise either, same BS. It was at Napleton's in Aurora, I like the place, except some people in their service dept.

The dealership currently has my car. They replaced the transfer case 2 weeks ago thinking that it would resolve the issue. Maybe I'll mention the shaft assy- propeller on Monday.

I had the fluttering noise on my '16 4WD 3.8, and thanks to the info on this forum I convinced the dealer to replace: "49100-B1300 Shaft Assy-Propeller."
For about a week it was noise free, but now the flutter is back. Not as loud, but it's back.

Also, I have an annoying vibration, and I hoped that by replacing the propeller shaft would eliminate it. Usually on colder days the vibration is more pronounced. I put new Pirelli tires, road balanced them twice, did an alignment, but has not helped with the vibration...

Update: Been over a week without my car. I suggested the propeller assembly last Wednesday and they dismissed it. Found out on Friday that they are replacing the driveshaft.

There is another thread on the vibration issue. Seems like this vehicle is sensitive to different tires.

We have a 2015 Genesis 3.8 - took it in for a clicking noise. The dealer could not replicate it - so after them changing the oil - clicking sound still there, went back, they adding a seal on the sunroof - clicking sound still there. Since the sounds goes away after the car warms up, I kept the loaner and went there in the morning. Had a service person hop in and I took it for a spin....and guess what, the noise was there between 25-30 mph. They said they will talk about it and give me a call back. So I decided to jump on here to see if anyone else had experienced this and it appears there have been several incidents with this. I called the dealership with the findings but was told, it could be the cabin air filter to check that. If there is no debris in there, then it could be a barring. Has anyone else had resolution with either of these suggestions? Or has the fix only been replacing the driveshaft (which includes the propeller shaft)? I have been to the dealership 4 times with this issue - starting late September.

I am not sure if this "fluttering " noise is the same as what I had, but my 2015 had a loose or incorrectly mounted lower chassis cover that allowed air to "flutter" under the car.

I reinstalled my lower engine cover correctly and it has been good ever since with no "fluttering" noise.

Does it sound like this?
If so then it's the same issue as on this thread.i thought mine was coming from the sunroof, but it was the driveshaft. My dealer replaced the sunroof, then the transfer case, then the driveshaft. Nothing worked, and the dealership resorted to shimming it to eliminate the sound. Which then caused a vibration at take off. I traded it in shortly thereafter for another Genesis without the sound.

I wonder if your dealership shimmed your driveshaft... This is what lead to the vibration in my car before I traded it in for another.
