  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

G70 Lease Comparisons and Discussion (USA)

Genesis/Hyundai is subsidizing leases and not purchases, not including the low finance rate of 1.9%. Why are leases preferred in the subsidy range?

There was some HMA training material posted on this forum (I think?) that I came across that literally says "They lease, you lead" and then lists off how to handle leases, vehicle auction system, etc. I think the idea is that with leases, they will have greater opportunities for repeat business. The people who are financing will come back for the free services (and maybe ongoing maintenance if the dealer is lucky), but overall they likely won't come back to buy a vehicle anytime soon. They'll take 5 years just to pay off the car and likely want to hold it for at least a couple more years after that, so conservatively 7 years vs 3-4 years for a customer to return for a new car.

Closed on a 36/10 lease deal last week. Here are my numbers in case it helps anyone out. I was in South Florida.
G70 2.0L RWD, Elite, Prestige, Dynamic packages.
MSRP: $45,240
Rebates/Incentives: ~$6k
Upfront: $815 including first payment. New tag.
Monthly: $455 including tax.
They added tinted windows.
Tax 7%.

I got the exact car I was looking for, and got it on the date I needed it by, Called about 5-6 dealers, two of which gave me the exact same "best offer" on the same MSRP vehicle, and so I picked the dealer that I was having a better experience with up to that point. This was the best I can do with my circumstances. I tried to get enough posts on this website to message r_spec for Circle-A pricing but couldn't get PM privileges in time, so maybe that could've helped out had I known about it sooner. I did have to haggle a bit.

Thank you to all those that helped me out on this website. It was greatly appreciated!

Hope this helps you current shoppers out there get a better deal than mine. PM if you want any more specifics.

That's a good deal. What was the Cap Cost of the car before the incentives?

So as I was looking at the paperwork for the lease contract to get the exact cap cost to answer your question, I noticed that the VIN on my contract is different from the VIN on my vehicle. I have the window sticker of my vehicle with MRSP and that's what I used to negotiate based on known RV and base MF. But my contract has a VIN that matches a car at the same dealer, but different color, and ~$100 cheaper. What an oversight.

May be smart to address that with them before it becomes an issue later. I'm thinking it might impact registration/ownership

Hey Everyone - new to the scene, but have had my eye on the G70 and maybe G80. In the research phase and tossed between leasing or purchase. Haven't reached out to a dealer yet for an offer because I'd like to do my research and go in understanding where I should be. Anyway, got the below from edmunds - this is for the RTP are in NC for G70 3.3T, AWD Prestige and/or Sport.

36/15
.00007 MF and 49% residual
$3000 lease cash

Waiting on a response to see what comes back for 36/10 and 36/12.

The MSRP is approx 51,800. Based on what I could find, there isn't much movement on the price around here. Fair market value for this model and trim level is at about $50,000 - recent sales. When I calculate lease based on this, 0 down, total (incl. tax) is around $730/mo. This seems crazy high to me. Thoughts?

36/12 is 51% and 36/10 is 52%, MF is the same for all three.

With Circle A, the price before incentives should be around $47k for the Prestige and $48.4 for the Sport.

Great thanks for this. With these numbers, becomes more attractive - around $550 to $600/mo. Now I just need to get that Circle A pricing...

Hey, it seems hard to believe but I got it for $559 per month. 0 down. 36/15k, 3.3T Sport AWD 53k MSRP.
This is what I did:
1. Got the Circle A from r_spec (Again, huge thanks to r_spec!) (~3k off)
2. Get some discounts from the dealer (2~3k off)
3. Apply Lease Cash, Conquest cash and etc (~ 5k)

And boom. $559.
I had to visit dealership numerous times and make hundreds of calls in a month to get #2 steps done.
Most dealers tries to jump #2 when you apply #1 and #3 discounts but it's possible.
Good luck, hope you get a good number too.
But bro, this car is so amazing and if you happen to reach some reasonable numbers, go for it, you won't regret it having it early!

Wow good for you. That's an amazing lease deal. I assume that's tax and all? What state/city are you in that landed you that deal?

Yea, I didn't expect this much either. Deal was made in Jersey City, NJ. I live in NJ too.

May be a silly question but do you still get all the service benefits with a lease - e.g. the Genesis "experience." I am assuming no since it refers to "owners".

Don’t assume. You do get everything. And if you buy out your lease you are still treated as the first owner.

Pretty cool. Really makes a lease attractive. Problem around here is inventory, particularly the 3.3 AWD.

Go to your local dealer and talk to the general manager. Hopefully he/she will request what you want in their next allocation. If not perhaps they can do a dealer trade. It could also mean a road trip to a dealer that has what you want. What trim are you looking for?

Ideally the Sport white exterior but Prestige would work. Within a couple hour drive, there are 4 AWD 3.3 at the dealers - 1 design, 4 advance
