  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

G70 LED vs Stock Turn & Reverse Lights

I have a work buddy who lives in Korea and is fluent. Is this a kit for a DIY person to install or does this guy mod and whack into the existing lights? Generally lights are sealed and the lenses do not just disassemble from their base to allow a new LED strip to be installed. If not installed correctly moisture will fog the lights. I don’t mind asking my work buddy to call or contact this person and ask some questions if we know what all to ask? My work buddy is not a car guy so not for sure he would help but can ask him.

Most of my co-workers in South Korea have returned to the states for the project we had working with a Korean supplier was completed. The one co-worker still there has told me the closest Genesis dealer to him is in Busan or Seoul. Both being a pretty good drive from where he lives. I’m not sure I have enough favors to ask him to drive more than an hour to a dealer? We had 4 folks over there for 90 days and they would tour around on weekends to see the sites and they would have been the ones who might have run across a dealer more easily but they all have returned.

I replaced my incandescent rear turn signal bulbs with these LivTee LED bulbs from Amazon. Amazon.com: LivTee 1156 BA15S P21W 7506 LED Turn Signal Light Blinker Bulbs - Error Free Canbus - Anti Hyper Flash, Amber Yellow: Automotive

They look to be the same LASFIT bulbs from Post #1 of this thread, just sold under a different name and in a generic box for $26. They seem to be good quality and are working well so far.

Thank you to Toddasaurus for the installation video!
Sorry for gravedigging this thread, but I've been searching for reviews on the LivTee one. I'm 99% certain the LivTee uses the same factories in China to produce the LED units.

Now that it's been about a year, how has it held up? Also asking the LASFIT owners as well.

My turn signal bulbs are still working fine. I never leave the turn signal on for very long, so I can't tell you if they would have any overheating problems. They are super bright, which I like. The color is a little washed out compared to the front LED turn signals, but I think they're good enough.

Okay. So I ended up buying a set of LASFIT LED bulbs to replace the rear turn signals, and reverse lights. Here are the links where I bought them...

Rear Turn Signals: Amazon.com: LASFIT 1156 BA15S P21W 7506 LED Turn Signal Light Blinker Bulbs with CANBUS Anti Hyper Flash, No Load Resistor Need, 2021 Upgraded Intelligent Temperature Control Version- Amber Yellow (Pack of 2): Automotive

Reverse Lights: Amazon.com: Headphone Adapter for iPhone X Adapter Aux Audio to 3.5mm Jack 2 in 1 Cables for iPhone 7 Earphone Dongle Splitter Adapter for Music and Charging Compatible for iPhone 8/8Plus /XS Max Support All iOS

The bulbs are very nice. They feel like a quality product and offer a lot of features (ie heat sinks, CANbus integration, built in resistors [turn signals only]). You can see how they stack up against the OEM bulbs, a bit taller and bigger...View attachment 18598

Installation is just about as easy as any other newer car. You must remove the taillight assembly first, then install the replacement lights. I made a video for those of you who haven't done anything like it before. It's pretty straightforward, though... (Installation is reverse of removal, obviously) If you do end up watching it, forgive my shaky cellphone video, I suck at multitasking and one handed camera operation. :druff:

How-To Install

Now, onto the comparisons!

Turn Signal LED vs OEM

Reverse Lights LED vs OEM

Hope this helps anyone who is interested. For me, they are perfect. They are definitely brighter than stock, but I don't think they're too bright. Worth the upgrade in my opinion!
Hey man, lights look great. I clicked on the link for the reverse lights but it took me to something completely different. Can you hook me up with some type of item number? Plz.

Just head to the lasfit website, they'll get you sorted out!

Has anyone installed more traditional LED turn signal bulbs with the external resistor?

Thinking of going this route, extending the resistor wires to mount them inside the cavity there the bolts are that hold the tail light assembly in place. There's a lot of space there where I think I can mount it, out of the way of any plastic components.

Thoughts/feedback?

Yes---I just installed a set of Diode Dynamics turn signal LEDs. I put the resistor on the wires of the connector.

So where are the actual resistors located? There's not a lot of room between the light housing and vehicle body, which is why I was looking to put them inside.

Thanks for the feedback!

Installed the originally recommended lights tonight, went without a hitch. Great little upgrade.

Edit: looks like I'm thinking of a different post/the YouTube video. These were mine:

Reverse

Turn signal

Ok, I want LEDs but which one's are the best to get? There seems to be a few options.

Hey guys, will my upcoming 2022 3.3T Sport Prestige have any freaking incandescent bulbs? To order LED replacements now, if needed. I had to buy LEDs for reverse and license plate on my Pali Calligraphy, but everything else was LED. Curious about the upcoming Santa Fe Calligraphy too. Thank you guys.

^ this it the topic of the thread. Reverse and rear turns are incandescent.

The 2022 has LED rear (and front) turn-signals for sure, so maybe just reverse lights then? Anybody with a 2022 can chime in, please? Thank you.

In the 2022 G70 Owner's Manual, all of the front, rear, and interior light "Bulb Wattage" information remarks the type of lighting is all LED. (See page 2-9.)

Thank you. Bought the car yesterday, and noticed the reverse lights were LEDs, and also the interior ones that I saw (except glove box), so thought maybe 100% LED. And looks like that's the case. Unfortunately, it has a paint job defect on a seam all around the bumper cover right where it meets the front of the hood that looks horrible, and might ask dealer to take car back. Rather wait for one without such defect, and preferably silver. We'll see what happens today.

Yep. I finally saw a 2022 G70 on the road the other day and it definitely had LEDs in the rear. Honestly, I think the 2022 looks better in person than it does in photos.
