  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

G70 Spark Plugs

Definitely can feel the difference low end speed, is their a way to monitor turbo psi through the jb4 app, on my car gauge im running map 2 and it shows me less than 15 psi is it incorrect?
Run logs...WOT. You can analyze but also post for Terry to see on the JB4 forum.

What is WOT
Here is my log
Wide open throttle. Don’t log short runs...best if you can get to 80+ mph (might be tough where you live).

Add more data to your graph. Data is stored...just need to add it. I’m NOT the best person to analyze these.

Okay I’ll try that, posted my log on the jb4 thread how does it look

How do I add things, very rusty at this

I forgot. When you graph...you can add fields to it somehow.

But...it’s better to get the data. Email the log to yourself. Then save it (csv I think). Then post the file itself which has ALL the data to analyze in delimited format (thus loadable in Excel, etc). The file you email to yourself is ultimately what Terry (and us) want to see.

With me?

CSV file is the format they need to really dig into your data

From what I’ve heard, on map 2 you should be going Wow and not just...I def felt a difference in the low end

Ok...just checked. When you click on your log...hit email. Send it to yourself.

Then save off the attachment. Upload it to the forum(s).

Done. Wait for a reply from Terry or whomever.

So...don’t worry about posting a graph screenshot...that’s for you. The CSV file is what’s needed!!

What is the stock Gap again?

What is the stock Gap again?

Something like .034" to .036" - pretty dang big compared to other factory turbo cars.

So the computer doesn't save things like peak power output or anything, that would be a give away to some kind of tune? It seems like this kind of information, or like how many times it hit the redline or rev limiter might be stored in memory. I don't know how you young whippersnappers figure this stuff out 😊

No...since the “power” is added after the ECU.

Reincarnating a dead thread with an update.

For those of you that don't know, I swapped my stock plugs with brand new OEM plugs, gapped to 0.026", and trimmed the ground straps to make them slightly narrower and a tiny bit shorter to reduce shadowing. I pulled my plugs today to see how they've been holding up.

Center electrode and ground straps look nice and clean. It's only been a few thousand miles, but still, I like what I'm seeing.

Mods are: JB4 Map 6 (custom map similar to Map 2), AEM intake, ARK midpipes, Stinger MagnaFlow exhaust, and Velossa Tech snorkels. Once I get a new intercooler I'll bump the JB4 up to Map 2 and dyno it. Most likely I'll end up using WMI as well if my dyno numbers aren't as high as I want them to be.

Anyway, so far it looks like the OEM plugs can be pretty dang good. (Don't mind the threads, that is how anti-seize looks when it gets heat cycled) Now, if I were doing something like Map 5 on the JB4 without any sort of additional cooling (ie water/meth), then these plugs might be a little too hot. But for now, they're solid, and I'm betting with WMI it will cool down the combustion just enough for these to be right in the zone.

Nice thanks for the update. I'm running the Denso's gapped to .020 on a stock motor no tune. Car feels great honestly, way more responsive than stock, car idles fine, feels good. Gonna get a JB4 soon.

.022-.024 is the recommended gap I thought, along with the caveat that you shouldn’t run that small a gap without a tune anyways. Just FYI

There are atleast 60 stingers and G70's that are running the exact same setup without a tune. Not a single problem according to the shop I go to that only works on our cars. But yeah I know that gap is meant for tuning, car runs great stock too. Way better than the factory plug gaps.
