  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

G70 US Availability?

I guess there could be a lot of extra profit in them advertising it as a used car on their Hyundai web site rather than a new one on their Genesis web site but I would doubt it.

That seems really shady to sell it that way. Are they trying to get their Genesis licence revoked faster than it took to get it?

Sorry man. It's just that folks cannot post false information and then go on a rant. Do some research...look at the pics...especially the one of the odometer.
Low, or even zero, mileage doesn't prove that it's a "New" car. It's possible, though quite unlikely, that it was sold, titled, and sold back without accumulating miles. More likely that it was a data entry error.

You missed it, I was being sarcastic in regards to Beefer saying it was a new car.

Okay, just got off the phone with Linda at Burns. It took about 5 minutes for me to convince her and the sales manager that the car was being advertised on their site. They could not pull up any info on the stock number. Finally walked them through the process of how I was seeing it. It turns out they are new cars (I also found a 2019 3.3t G80) and they were mistakenly advertised on their Buick/GMC website.

So, a clerk mistake and as Beefer was arguing, it is a new one.

Just spoke to a rep and she advised that it is new and that their 3rd party website service posted all 3 of the Genesis as used in error.

@TurtleBoy, you got through to the dealer before I did. :-) I must have been on hold while she was talking to you.

Yes, probably were. I was curious as it seemed a little early to be advertising the used ones and the pictures seemed to be like the ones they use for their new cars. Figured it could have been some type of return and they just used the same pics. Sure is quite a mistake advertising them as used.

Can you imagine being the dealer having two people, one on hold, trying to convince them they are posting new cars as used on cars the vast majority of the public don’t even know exist? 🤣🤣🤣

And neither caller even lives in the same state as the dealer.

She first asked for my first name which I gave her and then asked for my phone number in case I got disconnected. I told her I'm in Colorado and just calling for info for a forum I'm on. She said that was fine and we had a good chat about Colorado and PA since I used to live not a long way away from where they are. She was nice and really wanted to help find the info along with her sales manager.

Miles mean nothing. You have to know if it had been titled. Yes, it is unusual, but it can happen. The dealer may have bought it for some reason and changed his mind, the owner could have bought at died of a heart attack when he got the insurance bill. Could have been a corporate car, or a lot of other reasons. Unless someone knows the title situation they are just guessing. While it seems unlike, it is possible. Evidence is what matters.

I feel like running the VIN would give us the info we need, no?

Don't believe it is necessary. We dual reports from the dealer of a website posting error and I posted the window sticker above, which if I am not mistaken would not have been available if it was previously titled.

Actually the definition of a used car is subject to state law and varies all across the country. In Virginia any car with 7500 or more miles is considered used regardless of whether or not it has been titled. Other states are much less (like Florida I think is only 750).
