Genesis announces an additional 26 new standalone dealerships for a total of 35.

There are probably around 50 separate in total - including the Thousand Oaks dealership and those in temp locations (as it turns out, the one located in Monroeville, PA is a temp location as they build a new dealership at their original location).

Previously, Genesis had announced that there were 100 new standalone dealerships in various stages of completion.

FYI They are currently building a stand alone Genesis dealership in Palm Springs. It is located next to the Palm Springs Hyundai. As all the other stand alones, it will have sales, service parts etc. totally separate from the Hyundai dealership.

I haven't been there in a couple of months. At that time construction was well underway. Anyone near there know when the estimated opening is planned?

Was just there today for service, was told by the service advisor the new dealership will be open in two weeks. It is located next door to the their Hyundai dealership.

I visited the Charlotte location on Tuesday to get my recall work done. Their phone system wasn't completely set up yet, however It was a refreshing change from having to go to Keffer Hyundai.
 
Sitting at my Round Rock dealership getting my GV70 serviced. The separation is underway but not quite complete. Genesis sales is currently in a trailer and service is still combined. Andy, the Genesis service manager told me the new standalone Genesis of Round Rock will have their grand opening on July 1. So about a month to go.
 
I've not seen it mentioned here yet, but Highland Park, IL is getting a standalone Genesis dealership, currently looking like it's a few months from completion. It will be near the Porsche and Audi dealerships - bold move!

(yes, the place where Ferris Buehler's friend whose dad owns the Ferrari lives. The house is still there)

Anyone know if CT will ever get a stand alone? It's the biggest reason my wife and I have stayed away for our last two cars. Every time I go to the Meriden dealer, they have their employees parking in their handicap spots (no placard). I have complained countless times, and of course, I'm sure they make fun of me right after I leave. Being that I do state and national advocacy for the National MS Society, I just can't support a dealership that makes it even more difficult for me to navigate their dealership. It's NOT handicap friendly at all. Thanks all.

Wow! I was born and raised in New Haven and my sister lives near Meriden and I would never have expected this kind of behavior. I completely agree with you. I have often thought that when someone who is not handicapped parks in a handicapped space, it would be nice if someone (?) would make them qualify.

I looked at a map and you are definitely screwed. Genesis of Milford looks like the best choice (good reviews) but it is almost an hour away from you and you would have to drive through New Haven to get there. Much as I love my car, I think I would look for another brand if I were in your position.

Here in Scottsdale I see lots of Genesis vehicles but the GV80 is the most common.

I will easily drive an hour for the right car. Heck, when the GV80 wasn't out yet and I had to get a different car, I bought my Q8 in VA as the price was thousands less etc.... If I do purchase there, I'll need concierge service.

Before you buy, make sure they will drive that far for the concierge service. And don't ask the salesman, walk back to the service desk and ask them. OR better yet call on the phone and tell them you need to make an appointment and see what they say.

I would want it in writing acknowledging where you are from. I would send an email to the general manager asking if you would qualify for and receive service valet treatment if you purchased a car there. Here is key language from the terms and conditions:

"11. Disclaimer of Warranties. Genesis Retailer does not warrant that Service(s) will always be available. Service(s) are subject to availability and Genesis Retailer assumes no liability should all Drivers be booked at the precise time when Service(s) is requested. Genesis Retailer shall not be liable for delays or failure to provide Service(s) as a result of inclement weather, traffic conditions, construction, or other causes beyond the reasonable control of Genesis Retailer."

As to ctsooner's post: the concern is not the initial purchase, it is for ongoing service. I would agree that an hour's drive to make a car purchase is not material. But service over the life of the car is.

BTW, Connecticut is a wealthy state. I am amazed at the shortage of Genesis dealers there.
