I liked the review even though he is leery about the quality. I’m glad he qualified his reluctance that electronic gremlins can happen elsewhere too.
I shopped hard in February this year for a fun yet practical work car and was looking at coupes (didn’t need four doors) and the BMW 430ix I selected was a no brainer over the MB C 300 and Audi A5,
Cadillac CT4 and Genesis G70. I thought I chose wisely and just loved it until the electronic gremlins took over. Maybe it didn’t help that it was pretty well loaded up with features but after the fourth one appeared and needed a module that went in the steering column (waited 5 weeks for it to arrive) I got gun shy. Yes it was under warranty but I couldn’t help but wonder how much this BMW work would cost on my nickel?
Our first model year
Palisade Limited has been flawless so the GV70 quality seems to be there and I would rather have this warranty than others. Yes it’s a crap shoot and you cross your fingers on any brand you try that you got a good one!
Since 2010 I have had work cars (30k+ mile/year)
InfinitI EX35, Ford SHO, Nissan Murano Platinum, Toyota Highlander Platinum Hybrid,
Palisade Limited (now wife’s vehicle) BMW 430ix and now this GV70. Both the
Infiniti EX35 and SHO had over 140k on them when traded and out of all those vehicles, the BMW 430ix was the ONLY one that needed warranty work. Maybe dumb luck and maybe I’ve been spoiled but…I have high hopes for this GV70.
