  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Genesis Owners: What vehicle did your Genesis replace?

I traded in a 2002 mustang GT for my 2010 4.6. I have had it for two months and I love it. This is my first Hyundai so I hope the quality is as advertised.

WilhelmII How does the suspension/ride differ on the two cars?

Traded a 2010 Mercedes ML350 for a 2012 Genesis 4.6.
There are some things I miss about the MB.........
but not enough to feed at that trough again.

I just purcahsed a 2012 3.8 w/premium. I will eventually sell my 2003 Honda S2000. I will miss the nimble handling and convertible top, but I love my new Genesis! I also own a 2005 Chevrolet Tahoe and a 2011 Kia Sorento. Because of the two SUVs, the rear wheel drive on the Genesis did not deter me despite our winters.

I replaced an M5 with a 2000 E55 to save money. The 2012 Genesis 5.0 replaced the E55 and is better overall than both. Thanks Hyundai for having the guts to make the car Honda, Toyota, and Nissan wouldn't. Oh, and I have a 2012 Sonata too. 550 miles to a tank makes for an awesome commuter car.

My Genesis actually replaced two vehicles of mine: a 2001 Toyota Sequoia and a 2008 G35. I don't miss either one. This is by far the best car I have ever owned (I had over twenty so far). This is also my first Hyundai. I have had it two weeks and five strangers asked me about it. Only one guy knew it was a Hyundai, the rest thought it was a Mercedes (no lie!).

Well, the front does look like a Mercedes... a lot. Hyundai tends to use German designs for their cars. Not only the Genesis sedan, also the i20, which looks like a Opel Corsa.

2010 MB ML350. Had all that fine German engineering I could take. I would rather have a car that wasn't homesick for the dealership. First Hyundai. I hope it is as trouble free as past Chevrolets.

My Genesis replaced a 2006 Sonata which was bullet proof. I considered almost every car under the sun and the Genesis came out on top especially when you looked at the price.

My Genesis V6 is my first Hyundai. Previous car was a 2010 Subaru Impreza, and before that a 2003 Subaru Baja (loved that car/truck - like a swiss army knife with AWD). Just turned 60 and thought it was time for my first "luxury"
transportation. Miss the AWD, but really enjoy the creature comforts of the Genesis.

I replaced a 2011 BMW 535xi with 22,000 miles with a 2012 R-Spec.
