  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Genesis Owners: What vehicle did your Genesis replace?

Replaced a 2009 3.8L Genesis

Posted via Topify using iPhone/iPad

Replaced my wife's 2006 Sonata. Had the V6 in it and this was one great car with 100K miles on it. SHE got my SUV and I drive the Genesis now :)

Replaced a 2005 Dodge Magnum RT 5.7, 59,000 mi.

Replaced a 2004 Prius with 120k miles. Car still in family as we traded in a 2003 Ford Focus with 90k miles. The ford started to cost too much money to maintain and the Prius with my now 1+ hour commute each way was to small for comfort (I'm 6.3, 230 lbs).

Would have loved a premium hybrid but didn't want to pay the premium of hybrid plus new car (I was looking at the 2013 MKZ Hybrid). So instead I ended up with a v8 (!).

I hope my next car is all electric. By that time Teslas should have come down in price and hav cheaper models out.

I can't wait for the model s to come down in price...that is one sexy car.

Me three!

If I was comfortable paying what Mercedes and the like are asking I would definitely buy a Tesla any day of the week (since we have a family hauler already). But that would push me into car payments something I don't like.

Now a used loaded Genesis I have the luxury of paying cash and if it lasts too 150+ k miles I should be able to rinse repeat. I hope at that point a used S is available at a cost I can justify.

Sold my 2009 Sante Fe 3.3 AWD to my sister, my new ride, 2013 Genesis R-Spec 5.0
Love the ride and the power

Replaced a 2006 VW Passat (3.6 with Sport Pkg, 76K miles) with a 2013 Genesis R Spec.

Replaced a 2007 Hyundai Azera limited with 91K miles with a 2013 Genesis 3.8 Premium - black w/tan interior

Replaced a 2008 E350 Mercedes Benz. Call me crazy, but I got tired of the $1,000 repairs everytime I took the car into the dealer or repair shop. Yes, quality parts are expensive but reliability is important - and my Benz spent every other month in the shop getting something fixed.

And for the money spent, I think my Genesis R-Spec is a very good value! It's not a Benz, BMW or Audi - but it's a lot of car for the money! And I still enjoy German cars...just not at their current price point.

So far, I'm happy a happy Genesis owner!

Traded in my 2009 Acura TSX with Tech Package for a 2010 Genesis with Nav...loved my Acura but it wasn't large enough with my kid, needed a full size sedan. So far the Genesis has been an amazing upgrade, love the ride, the power and room.

I also own a 2009 Hyundai Santa Fe.

Traded 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited for 2009 Genesis 4.6. So far so good.

Replaced a 2005 c230 kompressor sport Mercedes with a2013 genesis v6 with premium pkg. as a previous poster said, the Mercedes would 1,000 dollar you to death.it seemed like something would malfunction every other week.genesis seemed like a bargain for the price.hope I don't have to use that great warranty much.bought the car for my wife a week ago,so far she loves it. Thought about an R SPEC but we have a vette when we want to go stupid fast. The v6 has plenty of power and good mpg

traded my 97 ls400 w/ 156k miles in it.
The Lexus started having issues that would cost too much to repair.
And it was a great car I'd ever owned.

2006 Azera with 48,000 miles. Great car but could no longer resist the Genny. :)

2006 Azera with 48,000 miles. Great car but could no longer resist the Genny. :)

Wow, that pretty low mile. I traded in a 06 Passat with 75K and thought that I had relatively low mileage.

I replaced a 2003 Infiniti M45 with my 2010 Genesis Sedan V8. This is my first Hyundai. First of all, I have to say that the 2003 M45 is a hard act to follow. It was a rare car, and I believe it produced more than the 340 HP Infiniti advertised. It never broke down once, and all of the electronic gizmos worked flawlessly for 10 years. When the electronics finally started to fail, I had to let it go. I purchased the Genesis and I love it. Hopefully, it will give me ten good years.

My 2013 Genesis R-Spec replaced a 2004 Mercury Sable LX. It's my first Hyundai. :D

I traded up from a 2011 Ford Fusion SEL with 20,000km to my 2012 Genny with Premium pkg
