Getting familiar with the group...
Well after 22 years of getting the Honda Accord (5X at the high end -minus nav), I went with the V6 Tech. My wife couldn't believe I would actually trade in my Honda for something else. Frankly this was the first time in years that I was really excited about getting another car. I always wanted the luxury but gagged if I had to pay $40/50+ to get it. The Genesis gave me that opportunity. Yes I paid another 10 grand than what I would have normally but I thought it was well worth the upgrade. I hoping that the Genesis will not only be very successful but still be affordable years from now. I could very well buy a string of these cars well into the future.
Another Accord driver here. My Accord (which isn't really mine, but belongs to a family member) is still my daily driver. I have an '02 EX.
I still think Accords are the best midsize cars available - though they are NOT the paragon of affordable luxury/superb performance/top-notch quality that Honda fanatics make them out to be. Yes, the Accord is well-appointed and reasonably priced, and Honda's engine technology is the best. But Accords are NOT sports cars, and they do have occasional body/trim issues.
I do need to eventually replace my Accord, just not right away. Too bad there won't be a hybrid Accord again for a while... If my Genesis turns out to be good (and so far it has been), I'll go back to a Hyundai dealership for either the Elantra Touring or the '11 Sonata Hybrid. (Or even the Azera, and have it rebadged as a "Grandeur.")
