  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Genesis Sedan bulb sizes

Matt - how's the heat from the 55w? I've see horror stories of melted housings....

Doesn't appear to be an issue so far but I will take a closer look later today and let you guys know. If there was going to be an issue, imagine it would have popped up by now.

cool.

Took a look the other day and didn't see any signs of melting on the housing or cover. I'll snap a pic of them sometime.

Hello so I was wondering what bulb to replace in the 09 Genesis.

Check the manual. If you don't have it, you can download it at MyGenesis.com

100w H7 high beam bulb is gonna melt your headlight housing. May be not.
Don't you have HIDs as your low beams with your tech package?

I believe so hid

So these are not recommended? What is recommended for the brights I was wanting bright white lighting...

Does anyone know what the interior dome light bulb sizes are? I'm not sure if mine are original but they are a bluish color and the passenger side rear dome/map light is burning out or very dim and needs to be replaced.

I just replaced my low beam hid with the 12000k hid bulbs, can I get bulbs for my fog lights that will match

My low beam HID lights went out on my 2013 3.8 Sedan. Dealership is quoting $200+ (CAD) for the bulb, anyone know any good alternatives?

Also, what size are the HID bulbs?

^^^ I believe the bulb type for the HID is D1S. At least that's what I is for 2010's. It's also printed on the lens itself on the bottom side between the HID and turn signal bulb. I believe it's also printed on the cover right under the hood.
I've had great success on Amazon with Fly Kan/Super Vision D1S bulbs.
you can also pick your color

scottdk,

Don't know about your 4.6, but on mine, the Fog Lamps only come on with the headlights on. They do not come on with the parking lights on. I've double checked.
Agree - our 4.6 does same

H8, H9 and H11 all look like this:

Only their wattage is different. H8 is 35w, H9 is 65w and H11 is 55w.
H9 and H11 can probably be used interchangeably as the wattage is only 20% higher but I would be wary of using H11 or H9 in place of H8. At almost twice the wattage I would expect the wiring and wiring harness not to be able to sustain extended use and may cause the wiring harness to melt or catch on fire (I have seen that before).
I'd imagine if replacing them with an LED bulb, the current draw would be significantly lower. 🤷🏼‍♂️

I've never seen an H8 (Fog Light). Will have to check to see what they look like at an auto parts store. Sure wish I could have used my yellow H7's there.

Although my car does not use the H11, I'd love to see what they look like also.
My 2010 Hyundai Genesis 4.6 Sedan uses H7 and H11 green led bulbs
