If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

GV60 Canadian Deposit - Local Dealer Information & Timelines

Don't forget the exchange rate from USD to CAD. That would take the Performance from $62890 USD to $80700 CAD, but it would be slightly lower due to tariff treatment differences between the US and Canada.
I believe you missed a very important word in my message of “if” these were Canadian prices

Canadian pricing in this article and looks like it won't qualify for the rebate.

Advanced $71000
Performance $79000

$71k for Advanced, $79k for Performance. Thought it looked nice, but at min 12k more than a top trim EV6 and 14k more than the Ioniq 5 which have more features than the Advanced, I don't see this as worth it at all.

From the article:

The 2023 Genesis GV60 is a luxury-oriented electric crossover with a high price tag that fails to qualify for federal and provincial EV rebates in Canada. Acceleration and range are satisfying, but handling is marred by the heavy weight while the missing rear window wiper compromises visibility and safety in foul weather.

at $71k for Advanced, $79k for Performance.
That's a lot of asking over its competition plus no eligible rebate.
Genesis is into a very dangerous game here.

Wow. I don’t understand how they came up with these prices. This seems like a drastic oversight. Way more money for less features then the platform mates. Although I wouldn’t be surprised to see a large price jump from the EV6 and Ioniq also with the increased price for qualification. But to price $12,000 more then Audi, and where does this leave your pricing for the GV70 which is already advertised as 480hp if the GV60 with same motor is $79….well guess I’ll be one of the many that will presumably be canceling my order

Agreed, the pricing is ridiculous when you compare it to other similar cars like the Audi Q4 e-tron. I will likely be cancelling my orders as well.

Personally find it overpriced, at that price point there competing with better cars not to mention its on the same platform as the EV6 and the Ioniq 5. Genesis still hasn’t built up there reputation enough, will be canceling my order. Guessing the Gv70 E will be priced around the $85,000.

I guess the $79k means the party is over. If Genesis confirms that pricing, I’m out. No chance its worth that much to me in this market especially given the range it has. I’m hoping to hear from my dealer soon and walk away. Really disappointed if that has to happen because I was excited for this car for months, but they might have priced themselves out of the market… even compared to themselves with the EV6 and Ioniq 5. Time will tell

It is expensive, but if you configure an Audi Q4 Sportback fully loaded it is $76k, and the GV60 is a much better car and more luxurious from the reviews I've seen.

Interesting take from this Canadian reviewer who owns an Ioniq 5:

In fact, with the most recent increases in the Canadian exchange rate Audi must be reconsidering increasing its base price. It barely made the cut as it was…

That’s very true, and I don’t personally like the Q4 etron lineup either. Nice enough cars but probably not for me. I think stepping down in price to the EV6/Ioniq makes the most sense to save money, and I take delivery of a Model 3 Performance next week that cost $5k less than the GV60 regardless, at the expense of interior luxury. I’m still hoping to get a test drive of the GV60 and see it in person to make up my mind before cancelling the order. I have to wonder what Genesis expects the cancel/take rate will be on preorders at this pricing model, because very few people even here heard numbers above $75k as a stretch, so pushing 80 seems extreme.

The Canadian article said they had 1500 pre orders and expected 60% to follow through. Maybe I’m in the minority and I agree I would like to drive it first but just from a number perspective using the same platform, battery and motors as the EV6 and Ioniq 5, but taking out multiple features while adding in some others and a upgraded interior but increasing the price by 10k which is 15k to the end user is absurd. In the USA it’s a $4000 increase from ioniq ultimate to GV60, canada it’s $11,000, UK the prices almost overlap although in all fairness that is a 2wd single motor GV60. But all in all I’m very disappointed and pretty sure I’ll pass

It’s official. Canadian prices: advanced: $71
Performance: $79000
I think they priced themselves bit out of the market

Yes it's a shame you can't drive the Genesis and compare to the Tesla...the $5K difference is not massive, depends on your budget of course, but would be good to try both as it could be worth it for you?

Genesis just helped Tesla sell a lot of cars. You have to wonder if Tesla knew the Genesis pricing and that is why they raised their pricing $10,000 just a short while ago. Anyway they screwed up my pre-order position and now this pricing, goodbye.

Quite disappointed with this pricing as well. I suppose it’s because they are not offering RWD models in Canada.

Most likely, I will not be proceeding with my GV60 pre-order as well.

I’m hoping the order I placed on an Ioniq 5 does not take forever and the pricing stays relatively the same as the 2022… my ICE is likely on its last legs.

Having only participated in this forum as a reader, I think it necessary now to finally make my first post with this news finally dropping. It's easy for everyone to be shocked and/or upset at the pricing, but frankly, I think it is a mostly unfair reaction. Genesis clearly chose to hold off on revealing the pricing until they were certain they could come out with a number that made sense. It may seem high, but relatively speaking, it is actually less, if not far less, than the equivalent from any other manufacturer, Audi and Tesla included. It is irrelevant if the Q4 starts at just under 60K so as to potentially benefit from the rebates. Any model that is even relatively equivalent to the base GV60 is going to cost at least the same, if not more, even with the rebate included. The same can be said with Tesla, where the Model Y starts at over 80K. Take the 100KM extra range out of it, and the cars are again incomparable in every way.

I don't think Genesis is looking for a price model that allows an extreme minority of their worldwide market (i.e. Canada, Quebec and B.C. in particular) to benefits from rebates. It is clear already from reviews that this is an EV that stands out from the increasingly boring competition. If the extra cost for luxury, which is clearly not offered by any similarly priced car, again Tesla and certainly Audi included, is not worth it in someone's opinion, that's perfectly fair. But it doesn't mean their pricing is wrong or inflated, it just means that person is not their target market.
