I just got a 2011 V6 Tech and the DIS seems to take much longer to boot up than it did in my 2009 V6 Tech. (By "booting up," I mean how long it takes to go from the Genesis splash page to the "nanny" page where you have to press the DIS knob.) It has even rebooted half a minute or so after starting. Anyone else noticed this?
Shortly after buying mine, I noticed the steering wheel would not keep the memory settings I set. When I had my first oil change, they changed out a module and I have not had any problems since. When I had a second oil change, the paperwork indicated that I had some wear on the rear tires. Currently have about 16,000 miles and am going to western Missouri for Thanksgiving. I'm guessing these OEM tires will need changing somewhere between 25 and 30,000 miles.
I have had a 2010 3.8 for 6 months now----The problem I have, and have had, is the hard hard ride.....It never has "softened up" and everybody who rides in the car brings it to my attention too......Sort of takes the joy out of what otherwise would be a great car.....Will have to get rid of it soon as I cant take the jarring bumpy ride about town, every day, day after day a jarring ride.........Its great on the hwy but I dont ride the highway that much.....very disappointed
Interesting you mention a 2x repair on the tilt/power mechanism... I've had mine in once and it's starting to stick again on the way down at startup... So far, I've not brought it back, but there's clearly something wrong with the overall mechanism.
Room lights still flicker. I know others have the same problem. Has anyone gotten this fixed?
Hey, when all else fails, read the manual. Right? .We have had our new 2011 4.6 sedan since Sept. 20. Now have just over 6000 miles on it and no probelms. We keep all features turned on and have no problem with any of the automatic stuff. My wife and I did spent a few hours going over the manual and a good bit of time in our driveway learning about our Genesis. It is our second most expensive purchase so it made since to learn and understand all functions and features of the car. I think a few people have problems because they spend little time learning about anything they purchase (ie reading instructions)
I have had my 2009 Genesis sedan V6 Tech for just over a year and have not had any significant issue with it. However, a couple of things happened this week.
The drivers heated seat control switches itself off on its own and will not switch back on until the car is turned off and started again. This is annoying when it -29oc.
The driver's seat belt decided not to latch. The same day one of the rear seat belts did the same and will not latch. It's heading to shop and I will keep you updated as to what the outcome is.
One minor thing that I have noticed that is very annoying and has caught me out twice so far in the past year. If you don't latch the trunk lid fully closed and leave the car for an extended period time in this state, like overnight, the battery will be completely drained and the car will not start. My old 1997 Ford Expedition has a timer circuit that shuts the light off after 10 minutes if you leave the back hatch or tailgate open. I was shocked that the Genesis did not have this refinement.
When I first got my 2009 V8/Tech package, I wasn't sure the headlight swiveling function was doing anything either. I found if I drove on a poorly lit street, at a low speed (10-25mph), I could wiggle the steering wheel back and forth a bit - enough to have the car making "S" turns along the road. The headlight motion was visible at this time. Pressing the AFLS OFF button and repeating the test convinced me they were in fact tracking the steering wheel.5. My headlights are positioned too low i had them raised but they are still low, and they appear not to swivel as advertised. The techs said they are fine but what else would they say.
