  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Here is a video of my MagnaFlow mufflers and exhaust tips after install

I only replaced the 2 rear mufflers and not the center muffler. I figured that could always be removed later on if it was still too quiet, but it's perfect the way it is.

I'm not quite sure what you mean by drone, but maybe exhaust resonating inside the car? It's audible inside the car, but not loud at all, and once I've reached cruising speed and am not accelerating the exhaust goes silent and can't be heard unless you give the engine more load with the gas pedal.

Yea, I've changed exhausts on many cars and sometimes you hear the exhaust in the cabin endlessly at certain speeds. It can become quite annoying. I suspect in your case the center muffler is playing an important part in eliminating drone. Thanks for your response and information. Based on your results, I'm considering changing the rear mufflers only, leaving the stock tips in place on my 4.6.

Thanks so much for posting them for me!!:D

I have to admit, I do like the stock tips, I was just looking for something a little more....M5-ish etc. I think you know what I mean.

I never thought this car looked sporty enough until I put the spoiler on it though. Now when I see pictures of one on here, or at the dealer, I think it looks funny without one. Kinda like a 1992-1999 Bonneville......No spoiler it doesn't look right (bad), but with it, the car looks proper. I think the tips enhance the look.

I was just thinking M5, funny that you mentioned it. Was in Boston last weekend and a M5 hooked up parked in front of us and had the quad setup with a deep rumble. The look reminded me of your setup.

Very nice, I really like Magnaflow and you get very high bang for the buck.

Thanks man:) I hope to have another video up by at very latest this weekend. I want to have something that displays the car driving, so you can hear what it sound like under engine load and different rpm.

That looks and sounds fantastic!!! Enjoy it in the best of health.

Scottdk,

I have to ask, how is that you can film and upload digital video, but not post pictures? That seems incongruent. :) :)

Love the Magnaflows though. In fact, I gotta admit buying a stock Genesis (and being happy with it) just doesn't seem possible now. I am already calculating tinted windows, KDM badges, 20" wheels and tires and now maybe even mufflers into my purchase price ;). This site is just dangerous to the wallet.

As for the picture problem......I do not know why there is one. I'm not doing anything different than I did before. The only difference is that I have a real camera vs. my cell phone camera. I'm sure it's a setting on the camera or something with how it is saved on my computer. Thanks to Dimitry, he posted pics for me that I emailed to him.

I know what you mean about damaging the wallet. After one things done, it's "now what can I do?":D The ONLY reason I'm not getting the 19" wheels I liked, is because for the first time I actually LOVE a stock wheel on the V8. As for tinting, I just tinted my windows today, so I'm looking forward to the film drying so I can roll my windows down.

FYI, you may know already, but if not....the stock exhaust tips are welded to the mufflers.

EEEEKKK! That is GREAT information! I had no clue they were welded in place. I was fixing to change the tips on mine but I reckon I need to rethink it!

Thanks for the post!

Here is the ugly stock VERY heavy muffler. I'm sure my car lost a little weight with these out and the new ones in.

old muffler and tip.webp

I got them at performancepeddler.com

If you go to the MagnaFlow website Magnaflow.com, click products....mufflers etc. etc. you eventually get to the "buy online" tab/selection.

Here's what I ordered:

Tips:

Crap!!! These are not the mufflers I ordered! I orderd the following:

http://www.magnaflow.com/02product/shopexd.asp?zone=main&id=8025

Shouldn't make too much of a difference, but it is what would work best with this car according the the shop I got it done at.

Only difference from the first link, is that the new link above are the mufflers that have the offset inlet and outlet.

BTW Magnaflow is coming up with a full cat-back system for the V8 Genesis, part number 16497. Trying to see if they're actually making them yet and if I can get one shipped here...

Interesting, I checked into this before I ordered my parts, and they said they didn't know when and IF they would make one.

I was going to wait, but than I knew that the price would be hefty, so I went with the mufflers.

I can always change it out later on though:D

Yeah it's not in production yet but my usual Magnaflow supplier called the factory and they said they expect it to hit production in about 4 weeks.

Went to a friends party last night and many friends were there along with some of the parents.

I gave a out and let many people take the car for a spin with me in the passenger seat. Anyone from in their 20's to about 60 drove it.

Everyone was just stunned by this car the LED's in back to the genesis eblems. Many complemented on the exhaust and how mean it sounded when hitting it hard.

With people asking for some more throttle around the crowd to see the HP in action, did a 180 left turn full throttle and just lit up the hell out of the rear tires and couldn't see behind me afterwards due to all of the smoke:D

Here ya go PING and everyone else who asked long ago for this....

First off I'd like to thank God for allowing me to use one of his parking lots.:D That was very nice of him/her.

Aint God GREAT!

Thanks so much for this!!!! I have to admit...that sounds AWESOME!!!!!

I'm just curious if these magnaflow mufflers on the 4.6 are legal...as far as noise goes. The reason is that my last ticket, believe it or not, was in 1957 for a noisy muffler and the cop on a three wheeled harley had a motorcycle that was louder then my car but that was OK because "IT WAS MADE THAT WAY" (I never understood that reasoning).

Hey, wheines, 1957. So what are we talking here? '57 Chevy, glass packs, ? :D Come on....give us the skinny! :D

Bet the cop wasn't reving his engine, like someone else, maybe?
