  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Huddleston's Build Thread

Glad you got to view the pictures. Roof rack pictures being posted tomorrow!

pardon the poor pictures - I still need to trim the excess from the cross bars off so it looks flush - overall I am happy and I now get to carry my bike instead of having to use the wifes cayenne! Last picture shows how the rack is secured for those that have never installed or used one of these before.

I hate you had to do that to your genny but she is looking good. Congrats on making your life alot easier, I'm sure your wife got sick of you taking her beautiful ride.

cost per mile to operate the Cayenne exceeds that of the Genesis so its nice to keep the miles off of the car if possible.

Looks good. I've been on the fence about getting the Yakima with Q-Clips as well. Did you place anything between the metal clip and the inside of the door jam? Looks like it came with a really thin/cheap piece of paper to place in there. Are you concerned about them leaving any marks on the paint?

One last question, where did you get yours?

I used vinyl over the clip edges to help protect the paint. We'll see how it holds up. I am concerned but the car is my daily driver so I anticipate some wear and tear over the years. I mean I'm also the guy that cut holes in my hood for the GTR vents lol.

The base Yakima system I purchased on Amazon as things were on sale between thanksgiving and Christmas. The Kuat trays were purchased there as well because they are the only tray that wouldn't require an adapter for the fork. The fairing is custom made by a friend that owns a new company specializing in one-off custom colored and designed fairings. There will be some cool things coming with that too.

Electronic exhaust cutouts purchased today!

The 2.25 inch QTP system is headed my way!

Very curious about how they sound and perform. Exhaust is next for me and I can't find anything that I'm happy with yet.

Install will be in the next week or so.

Basically you just wrapped the clip with a vinyl film? That in addition to the piece that came with the kit or just vinyl only

Nice. Noticed that it didn't say Yakima on the left side. I'd be interested in having one made. Can you send me his contact info.

In for sound clips!

Yes, basically layered the vinyl that came with the clips with my own.

The website is www.getsomepass.com

Great guys, they are the same guys that do the photography for my cars and auto events.
I believe they are going to be opening the site for orders in a few weeks, after we do a photoshoot and video shoot of my car :-)

what's great about the cutouts is that I get the best of both worlds. I retain the quiet exhaust for long trips and when I want to go full nuts its essentially an open header.

Looking to update and upgrade your Genesis luxury sport automobile? Look no further than right here in our own forum store - where orders are shipped immediately!
Where is the cutout placed along the exhaust system? Prior to the cats or after? Please post pics/vids when you get it installed - the ride is looking great!

I am still working the placement out. install should be next week so I will certainly let you guys know

Interested in hearing the exhaust note post install. Cutouts IMO, sound the best after heads/cam/exhaust install and horrible on a stock exhaust setup.
Good luck.

I based my decision after hearing clips of the G1 Rspec with cutouts. Hopefully the sounds is close to that.
