Hyundai only one to reset air suspension?

I think to do it Thursday or Friday. I like that car and think to keep it for long. Funny thing that German parts in that car is suspension and transmission and that weak parts of that car.

Sorry for delay! So I replace solenoid with the OEM one and it’s miracle everything works perfect. Because of bad new one I was blaming on electronics errors. Basically OBD scanner show where the problem, no more aftermarket parts, it was driving me crazy. I hope you will receive your car soon.

LONG AWAITED UPDATE. Ha

So after weeks of waiting (thanks to the coronavirus) I finally got confirmation from the dealer...

We have settled on a deal where we are installing the Strutmasters kit (!!!!!!) on the car.

I am paying for 1/2 of the cost of the kit ($600), they are paying for the other 1/2 and taking care of the labor.

Impressed is an understatement.

Will update when I have the car back.

Last year I had the same problem, but it turns out it was the air suspension system. It had a leak in the front driver side. $1500 for the part another $500 for the labor over a few days.

Literally just got home with the Strutmaster kit installed. First impressions is that it's a little stiffer than what I was used to, but maybe it just feels more planted because the suspension is all working correctly

Will update as I get more seat time, but so far so good!

Yep! They updated the kit to include a bypass! No ECS light for me!

Just had left strut fail, covered under warranty so they replaced the right too. 5k job.

Where the compressor located in the car? Where is the solenoid valve block valve located?
Is it possible an air leak will overwork the compressor and cause a fuse to go bad?

There is nothing like ridding on air for years and then going back to standard shocks and coils. I'm going to go back to my mechanic and see what upgrades I can use to improve the ride because I feel like I'm riding on springs. I'm thinking of upgrading the shocks to something beefier might help.

I’ll be honest, I’m there with you. I’m not sure if the parts have changed or if my install was weird, but after living with it for a while it’s too stiff. Small to medium bumps are fine, but anything larger is way too stiff, especially in the rear. Not sure if it’s the spring or the shock. You having the same experience?

2014 Equus, right at 50,000 miles. At the dealership it took two weeks, the left front was leaking. Covered by warranty, part was about $2460.00, labor was $200.00, total was $2660.00.
I took possession of the old part, it is about 27 inches in length and 6 inches diameter, it weighs about 10 lbs. It has one electrical connection, one air connection, a yoke on the bottom, three bolts on the top, and midway two more bolt connections. The part is about 120 lb force rating or 530 newtons. See pictures of the old strut shock.

Finally got the car back because the dealer magically couldn't get the car to fail. I have the car 20 min. and the suspension fails. Ugh. No ECS light but the suspension is definitely not working correctly. Still nothing out of pocket and the dealer I purchased from is truly trying to figure it out, but it's getting frustrating.

I would like to know if you purchased this car from a Hyundai dealer. I had a leak in my right front air spring. I purchased a pair from Rebuild Master Tech (RMT). They only rebuild OEM shocks no foreign shocks. I installed them my self. The compressor pump them up but the right side was a little lower then the left. So I took it to the Hyundai dealer for Sensor calibration as suggested by RMT. Hyundai say their scanner wouldn't inflate the front air shocks because I had a bad Solenoid valve block. So I ordered a Solenoid Valve Block and had it towed to the shop because when I replaced the Solenoid Block I had to release all the air from the system. They put air in the rear but said they could not do the front because the shocks were after market. That just doesn't make sense to me. The Shocks are OEM rebuilt (came off another Equus). I closely examined them before installing them. They were exactly like mine. The end game was they just wanted to sell me new shocks at a tune of 5 to 6K. Including installation. They have you over a barrel because they know they are the only ones in town that has the equipment. What could be so different in OEM rebuilds than the originals. It's not an electrical thing. I wish I could get my hands on a diagnostic scanner tool that will work on Hyundai Air Suspension Systems. If anyone knows where I can get one please let me know.

I did not buy it from a Hyundai dealer. And yes, they are just trying to take advantage of the situation. Jerks

It definitely does not float on air like with the air suspension, mine feels more sport sedan-like now. It's a little stiffer but not bad.

I would say it's a 7 or 8 out of 10 on the kit, but some of that is due to my local roads.

My problem is that my neighborhood is surrounded by old infrastructure, so the roads suck. I definitely feel the big bumps more, but once I get on good roads she comes alive.

I believe that’s the fill tube if the system gets low. Can’t confirm though. Did read you are supposed to have wheels off the ground when filling to avoid bursting the air bags.

It is the air fill tube for the reservoir tank. If the system gets too low in air for the compressor to fill then it has to be done manually by the service shop. And as far as I know it has to be done by the Hyundai service shop. They have the only equipment in town.
