In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Magnaflow Cat-back Exhaust for the R-Spec

Hey Motley, yes I was the one who said they would not be doing the dyno. Looking back it would have been nice to know the true difference in HP but oh well... Should be 12-15hp from the Magnaflow + 6hp from the secondary cat deletes. 450hp - not bad for a hyundai!

Has anyone asked Magna Flow for the numbers? They have them. ;) I no longer have the phone numbers to the two Magna Flow engineers I've dealt with before or I would have called them. ;)

Cool, thanks. Those numbers is what I would guesstimate as well. Not bad at all! Can't wait to hear the motor...

Looking forward to the vids! Hard to keep track of the threads, but are you the one that said they wouldn't be doing a dyno?

Would love to see how you fabbed up the intake. Can you post a pic of what you have done and how you made the tube? Assuming you left the MAF mounted as-is and replaced the air-box.

I am going to plug in my scanner when I get time to see what the intake air temps are stock for my 4.6L in case I ever decide to do something. I would like to have something like this, but I don't have the equipment or fabbing skills to do it myself:

will take a pic of it tomorrow after i reinstall it all, as i took it out for winter and put the stock air box and plastic connector on, but it is short ram as i didnt want to mess around with the mass air flow sensor

Hot exhaust says they aree out of stock for 4 weeks and the price jumped back to $1200.

Did I get the last one then? My order is still awaiting fulfillment so maybe they were already out.

Received my Magnaflow yesterday. The system weighs about 60 lb. Will install it in June after my next motor trip. Installation is incredibly easy, even for a 73 year old overweight (fat) man.
Noted the length of the rear muffler body is 14", which is the same as a Dynomax VT - thinking that if drone is too much then will drop fit a Dynomax VT.

15059 + MSA cat deletes = sweet, sweet music. Best sounding exhaust I have ever heard. Video to follow shortly.

That intake looks freakin awesome!

What a tease.

I can't wait to hear this. I only hope the V6 sounds 3/4 as good with the cat deletes.

That is actually an intake pic that I found on the Internet. I should have been more clear where I found the pic when I referenced it. It was on flickr but not any info was available about the owner, what they did, or how it worked for them. IIRC, it was in New York somewhere. Every time I hear someone mention a custom intake, I think of this pic and hope it is the owner that did it! If anyone knows who the owner of car in the pic I posted, please let us know. It would be cool if someone could fab something like this up for us.

Hopefully frankrspec will post his so we can see what he has done.

On topic...my ears are ready to hear the sweet sounds of your new exhaust system!

How many people are refreshing this page every few minutes?:)

Sounds very tame for a Magnaflow as he mentioned earlier.

Mine arrives Tuesday. :)

StangKiller did you notice much sound or performance difference when you added the MSA cat deletes?

I want mine now.

Yea - a bit easier to chirp the tires. Sound 100% better with cat deletes. Way too tame with just the magnaflows. I didn't really get on it that much in the parking lot - the harder you stomp on it the more it rumbles. Sweet, sweet music!
