  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I see that the power door lock seems to be standard, checked the manual on how it works but to no avail(or maybe just overlooked it). And yet, when my door is not completely pushed in, the LCD will show it is open, waited to do its job but to no avail. How do I enable it? Also, is the ambient light only for the 5.0? Thanks, exploring all those amenities found in the manual unless it says "if equipped".:)

I think you're talking about the "Auto-close" feature which doesn't come on the US version of our cars. We gotta pull 'em closed by hand. :) Not sure what you mean by "ambient light" - can you explain? Thanx.

That sad, if we did not get the "auto-close" because even my manual stated it.
This is the ambient light that came with my Azera . It's the blue light at the top of the glove box, front and rear door.2012_Azera_AmbientLight.webp
And here is the manual

Ambient light is simply dome/footwell lights. The blue or colored lighting found on some cars is called mood lighting which the Genesis does not have.

are you having trouble with the door not closing all the way in general? Seems to me you have to often really close it hard for it go all the way. Haven't really experienced this on other cars.

I've noticed same thing. These are tightest doors I have ever experienced on a poop load of cars.

Yep, tight doors they are. My wife's side normally is a hit and miss 50% of the time. :( My side is also quite frequent, need to shut them pretty hard. May need to ask the dealer to adjust as they do not seem to be settling in as I though they would with time.

Nope! I am referring to its standard feature that when you closed it and it does not go all the way, it will automatically go and lock. Also Explore this

That's not offered in North America so our manuals don't address it.

Interesting, that the UAE Genesis also has rear red fog lights where ours just have red reflectors.

Wow just wow. Forget auto door closing. They have tons of other features, did u see the over head aimbent lights, rear touch screen with full dial controls, rear recline seats, rear fog lights, they get options to pick front grill color, Hyundai did provide UAE with emirates first class experience. And what do we get s***y bluelink which works half of the time even less actually

Oh and BTW gas been so cheap in UAE why they offer 3.3 version over there. They should have that in US.

I have ask my brother to ship one from dubai

Also , 2 rear dvd consoles. I only addressed ambient light and automatic closed door as the title suggested because they are addressed in U.S. manual.

I wonder if allowing for an option to have power doors it caused the doors in general to not be able to shut well when you don't have the power doors.

Try cracking open a window and shutting the door. It might be because of how air tight these cars are. I haven't tried this but it could be the issue.
