  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Hello everyone. Been awhile since I posted. This is what I'm working with, thinking about picking it up tomorrow. Had three dealerships near me bid on an empire grey 5.0 ultimate - pretty impressed at this first offer I got from the second dealer. They all told me to come back and give them last chance if they were beat so I could probably get another $500-$1K. Lease option is $670/mo for 36 months w/ 12000 miles per year and $0 down. Not sure if I'm going to lease or buy - leaning towards lease because I seem to buy a different car every 2-3 years. I think the adjusted sales price is pretty good and I'm pretty happy with trade-in above KBB value, but I have a feeling I need to be around $630/mo if I lease based on some other posts on this thread. Pull the trigger or keep pushing?

Trade-in is 2012 Genesis rspec 5.0 w/ 23000 miles.

Thank you for the help.

The quoted sales price is a little higher than Hyundai Circle pricing, so pretty good. The admin fee is BS. Lease rates are not as optimal as on other premium brands, as the depreciation assumed is high and not artificially lowered - would need to see the exact lease details to judge (interest, residual, etc.). Tough call on buy or lease due to this - I would probably buy. if you do lease, do not until you know ALL of the lease details - not just payment and term.

Thanks ksoze. Just asked them to email me specifics and will share shortly.

They may have made up a little ground on your good deal with that interest rate. Average rate for a 5 year new car loan is just over 3% and most credit unions are at or under 2%. I would always try and get a local bank and/or credit union rate BEFORE seeing what the dealer is offering. Many a low profit car sale is made up with the mark up of interest rates by the dealer.

I got HMA financing, unfortunately I don't have the perfect credit score, and 5,5 is the lowest I ever got.
For my previous car I had ,you won't believe 18%!!
Well, now this rate compare to what I had is almost like no interest at all :)

I bought my Genny Saturday. Nov 15. My bank rate was 1.94%, but the REAL rate (because of the convoluted way they calculate it by adding the interest up front) came to 2.32%. A loan like this should not be paid ahead of time, because that does not save you interest. It is not like a home mortgage.

Notice Hyundai TV ads for "Black Friday Sales". Does this mean anything, or am I just as well off going with something like Truecar?

Read his reply - he answered why. Not everyone has the same credit and he is happy with his purchase - good for him.

I am in the process of negotiating the price on my 3rd 2015 Genesis. Unfortunately, only one of them was for me (I negotiate car prices for others). The prices are coming down. I am now getting over $1000 below invoice.

Thanks for the update. Assume this is BEFORE any incentives?

Yes, before incentives.

I negotiated a price of $45,042 on a red V6 ultimate (MSRP $50,135, Invoice $47,017) before incentives. But the person I was helping didn't want red.

Gray (Parisian, Empire State and Montecito Blue) Ultimates are extremely rare in northern California. My local east SF Bay dealer had nothing in stock and could not find a dealer trade anywhere to sell me. I had to drive to San Jose and pay extra ($47,000 before incentives) to get the last Empire State gray anywhere in northern California. I did an on-line inventory search by color to find the car that purchased and know that there are no other grays anywhere nearby.
I was able to use my Hyundai guaranteed trade-in for my 2012 Genesis Tech and did get the dealer to throw in a cargo tray, rear bumper applique and a rear badge change. With my loyalty $1000 and military $500 incentives I paid $51,346 out the door.

Yeah , it's low to me, compare that I used to pay for my previous brand new 2012 Sonata 2.0T Limited. % 18 I paid.
if you can get that low , it doesn't mean that I can. My credit score is ,, khnmm let's say not the best you could have, actually it's very bad.
And I got both cars financed by Hyundai Motor Finance. They saw that I made payments on time and always more than required , and now they lowered almost 3 X

Pulled the trigger last month, 15 Genesis 3.8 AWD Ultimate (Black/Black). MSRP $52,735 , A-Plan price $47613.45 minus $1000 owner loyality, minus $500 military rebate, final price $46113.45. Dealer also tinted windows, filled tires with nitrogen, and rebadged the trunk.

I really appreciate all those who shared their selling experience as it definitely save me serious money. Last night I purchased a Parisian Gray/Black 5.0 Ultimate. I paid $1,000 under invoice + $1,000 Loyalty Credit + 1.59% finance rate (60 months).
