  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Question: Problems to look for on 2011 Genesis Coupe R Spec

Like the title says, I'm looking at a 2011 R Spec Coupe. It is a one owner car & is clean as a pin. 44,000 miles. What problems do I need to watch for? BTW, it is the 3.8 w/ 6 speed manual.
Thanks for any help you guys can give me.

It's been a while, so I guess you made a decision. I'd say the only things to watch out for are the usual used car gotchas. The slave cylinder/throwout bearing, brake pads, tires, various suspension bolts all need to be checked or monitored.

I love my 12 3.8 R-Spec, so that's all I can think of. If you've got the car now, make sure you remove the carbon filter from the airbox and run the best premium gas you can find, always with fresh oil. The computer will adjust to the gas and filter change and you'll have a rocket :)

Yeah, it has been a while. I was looking at a Genesis & a Scion FRS & they both got sold out from under me. It was for the best, though, as I ended up with a 2011 Camaro 2SS with a new engine & 6-speed manual. Talk about a ROCKET! I'm in the process of making it a 1 of 1 'Punisher Edition" SS. I just can't stay out of the damn thing & have put almost 3000 miles on it in less than 2 months. And that's saying something from me because I'm retired & have no particular place to be at any given time on any given day. I just LOVE driving it!

I do thank you for the info, though.
