  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Remote ESC disable mod.

That's what I don't get...that's what I was refering to when I said things maybe changed during the 2012 build year?? I can tell you that mine was built in May. And I swear by doing the mod, the car did things that would normally slam my face into the steering wheel from the ESC kicking in. I have to run out and get some gas for the mower now, I'll try it again then shoot you a pm...have a couple more questions/suggestions that might help.

looking at the picture above, so it looks there is one extra blue antenna wire coming from the box that is not used as well as the orange?

Looking to update and upgrade your Genesis luxury sport automobile? Look no further than right here in our own forum store - where orders are shipped immediately!
Sadly, I guess I never read the original post right, because after spending $150.00CDN on the parts from Amazon.ca, this does nothing on the 2012 except for putting the auto parking brake on full, total waste of time and money, my car locked up totally in the driveway and would not move, definitely not a mod for the 2012's

Tried everything in every reply, and NOTHING works in the 2012, why doesn't someone update this forum to include that model year, it was one of the most powerful Gen's they made, and we can't let loose, somebody has to have a mod for this. With my ESC off, I get maybe 5' of spin before the braking kicks in. Pretty sad for a 429hp car by any standards

just got done building mine.

so you just did this mod and does not work?

I can't speak for the U.S. models, but it does nothing except apply the auto park in full and the car won't move.

Did you install it where the parking brake fuse goes?

I cant help but to think what is the point of the additional relay? Could you not just use the remote relay and hook the white wire to the other side of the fuse? It's rated for 15 amps which is more then the original fuse. Or am i missing something?

Nevermind, i realized that the remote relay turning on is made to 'open' the standard relay which acts as the fuse removed. Just using the remote relay would leave it open until you turned on, which is basically the opposite of what it needs to be doing

OK, 2012 5.0 R-spec - to be or not to be? 😀
Got confused a bit after long thread reading......

scroll up thats mine

Can the homelink button on the mirror be programmed to take the place of the fob?

I just got mine in and I was/am in the same boat as the Canadian. Wiring it the same as the instructions and pictures would do nothing but make it act as though the fuse was missing as soon as the car was started and the remote relay did nothing (my EPB never set itself though). I got to looking at the relay harness diagram and the pins were in the wrong slots so I used a multimeter probe to push the tabs in and I changed them around. The best I can get it to do is act as if the fuse is in but I can't get the circuit to open. Would getting the wires reversed between 30 and 87a keep the remote from working? Does it matter if 87a is used instead of 87?

I pulled the fuse just to test, I now have a new appreciation for this car.
It's tuff following my weekend warrior GXP, if I can get a switch going it will make the week days more exciting.
