Remote start, Does the G80 have one?

Just curious as to why in the app the G70 has the option of turning on the rear defroster, side mirrors and steering wheel while the G80 doesn’t. I’ve got a 2019 G80 Sport and my wife has a 2019 G70 Elite. We both have iPhones with the latest iOS update and latest Genesis app but her remote start has those options and mine doesn’t.
Also, on my old 2015 Genesis, the heated steering used to remain in the on position even after turning the engine off so that when you use the remote start, the steering wheel will also turn on. On the 2019, it turns off when the engine is shut off.

Just a guess, the G80 is still using the same internal electronics from years ago and those options are not available. G70 is newer and they finally gave the customer what they want. .

Sure would be nice to be able to do that. At least the seats.

Can’t do that on the 2017 G90 either. Yes it would really be nice.

No. Like I said, I have a 2019 G80 Sport and it doesn’t do that. That’s what started me wondering why the G70 has it and the G80 doesn’t, even though they are both 2019 models.

Sorry I missed that. I guess @EdP is correct. They didn’t add the electronics logic to those models.
Or maybe they will implement it in the next software release. Can anyone verify that the function has always be in the app for the G70 or did it just pop up?

I'm new to this forum and most likely going to pick up a G80 Sport (Maybe Tomorrow) and trade in my Ford Fusion.

I cant find anywhere online that the G80 Sport has a remote start feature. I'm in Canada so I don't know if this will have bluelink or not. Do your G80 have remote start?

I've got a 2018 G80 Ultimate and using the Genesis App on my iphone 6S Plus, remote start with heater control works fine here in Vancouver, WA USA. I don't know if it will still work if I drive 270 miles north and cross the border.

There was a thread about 2 years ago which said the remote start was not available in Canada. It was because the signals use a cellular network which was not compatible with Canadian networks. Don't know if that has changed.

I've had same features in other cars and always drop the service when it costs. My other cars allow key FOB remote start so I didn't lose it when canceling. Sending directions to car, google search feature and remote start makes it harder to drop GIA because these are cool features that I use all the time. $99 is steep. Should be $49, then I'd bite.

Exactly I’d pay $49 But not $99. I feel as if I’ve been hijacked and resent having to pay to use a car for which I paid. It is a kick in the rear and invasive and the only thing I do not like about the car.

Guys, some companies make remote start modules which enable the remote start feature using the original keyfob and they don't require an additional keyfob... www.fortin.ca is one of the best and it's a Canadian company... But they still don't have the G80 writing diagram... I've been emailing them for more than one year now just to convince them to upload the wiring diagram but no luck.

We need someone from Canada to talk to them and maybe he can deliver our frustration to them!!!

Married? Just send your wife out to start the car. I do that all the time and it works well. Honest, she is happy to do it for me. Cleans the snow off too if there is any. Really, I'd not kid about something like that.
