  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Reported Issues with the Genesis GV60

I really do scratch my head at the lack of the rear wiper. Can you manage with it? Sure. But needing to frequently clean the rear window in winter weather does quickly gets old. I would not pass on the car because of it, but given all the other features the car has, why cut corners here?

I've seen Hyundai/Kia/Genesis make some other weird "content" decisions. For example, our Kia has the top of the line options package the includes features like lane centering, but yet other features like rain sensing wipers, Home Link, and LED headlights were unavailable in the U.S, despite being included in the top of the line trim on the same car in Canada.

Maybe they were trying to please AJ.

The absence of a rear wiper didn't bother me during our winter. If the car is moving, the rear window stays clear. The only time I thought it would have been handy was when there was light snowfall while the car was parked outside. If there were a wiper, I could have just been lazy and switched it on to clear the window - in its absence I have to bring out the brush.

I’ve also found that applying Rain-x (or alternative) water repellent from the front windshield to below the lift gate spoiler glass each time I wax the GV60 works great for rain and road grime. Even helps with light sleet/dry snow.

Thanks! I'm going to try this next winter. I found that the mini-window below the spoiler quickly got and stayed messy whenever the roads were messy.

Today I had my steering wheel go blank, since none of the buttons on it would work. Only the Driving Mode button would work. Have this happened to any of you?

For some reason my Face Connect won't unlock the vehicle even though the circle status light turns green and recognizes my face :( my wife is also registered to the vehicle and the car won't unlock for face as well. Has anyone here run into this problem?

Try a second time. This happens to me regularly and is one of many issues I’m awaiting a response on from Genesis. I believe it is related to hig vs. low power states of various systems. If it has been some time since I’ve interacted with the vehicle, and everything is powered down, the first attempt fails, but I notice that lights turn on inside the car after the first attempt and the second try works.

Looks to be an ongoing problem :( a few owners have run into this same issue as well

That, in a nutshell, describes my biggest issue with our GV60 - most operations (whether in the app or in the car) require at least a few more steps than should strictly be necessary!
I totally agree. Too many confirmations necessary.

All in-car Genesis Connected Services have stopped working, as if I have no subscription. When trying to use the voice assistant in the car it says to register for additional services and will only route in "off-line" mode. i.e. no traffic etc.....

1. Soft reset doesn't fix it.
2. If I try to "reconfigure" through the connected services page the dash it fails and tells me to contact customer service.

The car does have cell coverage as I can request state of charge from my phone with no issue at all.

The only thing I have done recently was to enable Valet Mode, I wonder if that screwed it up?

I contacted customer service who have raised a ticket.... <sigh>

I'm currently driving a G70 as a loaner, this morning while cruising on an open highway I got a sustained collision warning and moderate automatic braking. Nothing at all was nearby.

I had that issue pop up. I deleted my fingerprint and it went away. I have since updated the car and have not tried to reinstall fingerprint scan

New issue - dealership managed to scrape the side of one of our GV60's while it was in for (another) warranty repair. Waiting to see photos, but it apparently will need to be painted. Now we have the whole question of diminished value etc. Our service experience with our two GV60's has been lousy, to be honest.

Strangest thing happened today. Was driving and music stopped and screen said resetting to factory defaults. I had to then go through setup and reset everything (profile, fingerprints, etc…).

Main battery is at 64% and 12-volt battery was reading 14.8. Volts at the time.

Anyone else experience this?

SAME!! Just today, very irritating. No idea why it happened but glad I am not the only one.

Hmmm…Wonder if they tried pushing an update? You’d think they’d notify us if that were the case.

It had to be something like that. I didn't touch anything and I couldn't stop it.
