It's not hard to imagine that a buyer in NJ acquires a GV60, then gets transferred to some remote city in the wilds of the heartland (Omaha! or wherever) where the nearest EV-certified Genesis dealer is many hours away. Should the owner sell the GV60 before moving? That seems ridiculous, but it's kind of the position Genesis has put us in. I live in Kansas City, MO with a GV60. When I ordered the car a year ago, I assumed there would certainly be 50-state service coverage by now...lol. I've driven carefully, avoiding potholes (there are lots here), crashes, harsh treatment, and I haven't had any problems requiring service in nearly 6000 miles. Despite that, the car ended up being subject to the driveshaft recall. It was towed away to the nearest available dealer outside of Chicago, 500 miles away, and has been there for 3 weeks so far. It may be returned to me a week from now, or maybe not...whatever. Meanwhile, I've rented a few temporary cars (Tesla 3--not great; Mazda CX9--big and underpowered) because the dealer was too far away to provide a loaner. Would I have to go through all this if the only thing I needed was a tire rotation and
wheel alignment? A month of car rentals? And how is Genesis going to support the GV70-EV, manufactured right here in the US but unsellable in most of the country? The whole situation is absurd.
