If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. Reported Issues with the Genesis GV60

You're funny! There is literally no possible way to know that until you have an issue. Yes there is a reason it's only sold in 4 or 8 states and the salespeople are trained to relay that to you, but they don't because that would cut into their sales. Even The local dealerships will lie to you and just say "we are too busy" rather than tell you the truth. And if you think a Genesis gv60 owner would be happy in a prius you're particularly hilarious. Nice troll attempt.

Genesis has arranged to trailor the car and will pay for our rental during its absence. I hope others got some value out of me sharing my experience.
It's not hard to imagine that a buyer in NJ acquires a GV60, then gets transferred to some remote city in the wilds of the heartland (Omaha! or wherever) where the nearest EV-certified Genesis dealer is many hours away. Should the owner sell the GV60 before moving? That seems ridiculous, but it's kind of the position Genesis has put us in. I live in Kansas City, MO with a GV60. When I ordered the car a year ago, I assumed there would certainly be 50-state service coverage by now...lol. I've driven carefully, avoiding potholes (there are lots here), crashes, harsh treatment, and I haven't had any problems requiring service in nearly 6000 miles. Despite that, the car ended up being subject to the driveshaft recall. It was towed away to the nearest available dealer outside of Chicago, 500 miles away, and has been there for 3 weeks so far. It may be returned to me a week from now, or maybe not...whatever. Meanwhile, I've rented a few temporary cars (Tesla 3--not great; Mazda CX9--big and underpowered) because the dealer was too far away to provide a loaner. Would I have to go through all this if the only thing I needed was a tire rotation and wheel alignment? A month of car rentals? And how is Genesis going to support the GV70-EV, manufactured right here in the US but unsellable in most of the country? The whole situation is absurd.

Same here in Ohio. Still not authorized to sell EVs. Isn't that hurting them from a sales perspective? I opted to rotate the tires here rather than a three hour drive to Pennsylvania. I am hopeful Ohio gets on the list to sell EVs soon!

When you got yours towed did genesis make you call their roadside assistance line for the towing? My case manager finally got ahold of me and conveyed those instructions but when I called roadside assistance they said that they only tow 50 miles and don't schedule pick ups.

I'm trying to avoid the delay waiting for my case manager to respond to this new news.

First question here:

In the insideevs actual range testing the closely related Hyundai Ioniq 5 product scored a full 24% lower range than the published range on 20" wheels (which were much worse than 19" wheels).

My concern is that the GV60 Performance might have quite a low range.

Look forward to hearing real world reports.
It does have a low range. If I charge 100% it shows right about 200 miles. I usually only charge to 90% to go easy on the batteries, which gives me 189 miles.
I thought we might start a thread one various issues that might be a concern on the GV60.
The two initial issues have to do with the Ioniq 5 but since they are both based on the same e-GMP platform we might expect them to plague the GV60 as well.

1. charging: a couple of youtube reviews have noted that the Ioniq does not have pre conditioning of the battery. As a result, cold weather charging never exceeded 50-60 kw. It took 18 minutes to go from 20 to 40% at a two Electrify America stations.
The review also alluded to multiple complaints of the same slow charing in Europe.
This is likely fixable by an OTA update but that would be a sad start if the Genesis has similar slow charging, particularly when their major claim is the speed of charging.

2. another review discussed how bad the visibility out the back window without a wiper was in snowy weather.
Visibility out the back window is bad all the time. I can’t imagine how bad it must be in the winter up North! It’s a sacrifice for the sportier look.

That’s ridiculous! I was complaining that my dealer was 60 miles away here in Texas.

The Genesis Concierge bumped the case up to the national service agent (who's been very nice and is seemingly competent), and he put in a tow order with AAA. AAA contracted with a team of Russians who showed up unannounced at a moment when I was half an hour from home. They didn't speak English, couldn't figure out where I was and couldn't tell me where they'd parked their car transporter truck; when I got home and we finally connected and they'd loaded my car on the truck, they presented me with an iPhone receipt document to sign--entirely in Russian. I wondered if I'd just signed ownership of my car over to some Russian mafia operative. Anyway the GV60 has evidently been fixed outside of Chicago, but as of today it's still in Illinois and there's no clear info about when it's going to show up back in Kansas City. Presumably I'll have it at the end of the week, but who knows...they could just drop it off in front of my building when I'm not around to receive it, and then it would be towed to the city car pound, get damaged, have to go back to the service department in Chicago for another month...

I've buried the lead, actually: I pulled the trigger and ordered a Cadillac Lyriq. God only knows when it'll be built and shipped, but at least I won't be stuck in this absurd Genesis-world indefinitely.

I put in a reservation for a Lyriq AWD model more than two years ago. I wouldn't hold your breath. Here in North Scottsdale, the same company owns both the Cadillac and Genesis dealerships.

A Cadillac Lyriq. Bwahahahaha. Like GM has ANY credibility with quality, customer service, technology or anything else for that matter. A failed car company that can build trucks reasonably well, but that has been in a downward spiral in regular cars for real people for the last seventy years. Their dealer networks and dealer support are crap and their products are awful based on their warranties, which are shorter than any Euro brand or Korean brand or Japanese brand. You couldn't give me an American made EV for free, yes, including Tesla.
We have a Genesis GV60 P which we love and a BMW i4 M50 which is spectacular. Both of the dealers we use in West Los Angeles are competent and have given us exemplary service.

ahh, but that's the thing--you have actual dealers that support you. the closest available servicer for my gv60 is literally 500 miles away. it's taken 4 weeks for the driveshaft recall to be done--car transport to and from, time waiting while parts hadn't yet arrived, actual labor time (which was probably the smallest part of the timeline), and a series of rental cars because the dealer was too distant to provide a loaner. so even if the lyriq is a piece of crap, at least there are multiple service resources within 20 miles and loaner cars available during the downtime. in the year since i first ordered the gv60, genesis hasn't made any moves to authorize local dealers to sell/service their evs--and that's the real issue. genesis doesn't seem capable of (or interested in) pursuing a nationwide sales and support strategy.

The salient issue here is quite simple - don't buy a car without access to local authorized dealers, especially new first generation technology. Genesis is a fledgling brand and it makes sense to initially concentrate their resources in the major markets with the demographics to support the sales and service.

You’re lucky. The Hyundai/Genesis dealers in Collin County, TX are terrible.

I broke the USB port (the only one that works with Android Auto and Apple Carplay). Just had it fixed under warranty. It seems easy to break, so I'm going to tape down my cable with electrical tape and never unplug it!

Thanks for the heads up! I’ll remember to be gentle with it!

200 miles seems low. Mine charges to 260 miles.
For the rear window, I am up north and was worried about the snow on the back window, but it was fine last winter. I guess it's the angle of the glass.

Looking to update and upgrade your Genesis luxury sport automobile? Look no further than right here in our own forum store - where orders are shipped immediately!
I charged to 100% once and it showed 295 miles in the app, but that assumes no AC/heat. The car said 270 miles or so, don't remember exactly.

Yeah, I think the angle of the glass is why there isn't a rear wiper, similar to why most sedans don't have a rear wiper.

My steering wheel started to squeak today whenever I turned the wheel, kind of like a door creaking open. Anybody else experience this? It's been warmer than normal in my area, but nowhere near as hot as Arizona or Texas so I don't know that the warm weather has anything to do with it.

The map quit displaying street names, the dealer grabbed the car and it was decided our GV60 needed a new head unit (whatever that is). After getting the car back things began to fail, fingerprint quit working, unlock when approaching sketchy, rear tailgate on approach works sometimes. I did a reset and nothing changed, tried deleting fingerprint to redo and it will not allow delete, tried deleing profile and wont delete. Very few things operating as normal since head unit replaced and all that was originally wrong was the map issue. They came and grabbed the car again and returned it with exact same problems, they are apparently looking into what can be done. Very aggravating, Genesis software needs a lot of work.

The growing number of problems that dealerships seem unable to correct is a little frightening. Very much reinforces my belief that rollout of this vehicle was a little rushed/haphazard.
You'd think that having a year of Ioniq 5 experience would have given them the ability to identify and address issues before release, but that appears not to be the case.
