  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Spyshots of 2021 G70 facelift

2.5t 300hp and 3.5 370+hp confirmed!!

Stay tuned today for the US release of the GV80!

Huh... That was it? All they said was that it is offered in the 2.5 and 3.5 engines, and that 2 lines is Genesis, and they represent young luxury. The end. Haha. Kinda dumb.

Even so, the GV80 is a good looking SUV.

So the Korean diesel version of the GV80 exhaust showed a hidden single pipe in the debut, but some of the company videos showed dual exhaust matching the front grill crest in shape. Was hoping they would have shown the vehicle on display tonight, but no such luck.

I know right

But I wonder if the MPG will improve or what the torque ratings are. Still, I'm waiting... for delivery on my new ride that is!
Improvement with MPG would be good, especially for folks using as a daily driver. I dont, so not a big deal. The new grille and lights are unfortunate.

Yay, 5 hp more for the 3.5 than the 3.3T. I can get that with a CAI. Good, at least I won't feel bad for not waiting.
According to Genesis site, it's actually, 375 hp for the 3.5 at least in the GV80. That could easily be 380hp or more for the G70... hmmm

Right now the 3.3T makes the same power in the G70, G80, and G90. That would lead me to believe the power ratings for the 3.5T will be the same in every vehicle.

What I would like to see is a high output version of this engine as an option. Not necessarily a full blown M3 or C63 fighter, but about 450hp and a few other extras like more aggressive suspension and exhaust for ~$5K would be nice. :)

This.

I really doubt the new G70 will have a different power figure, unless they specifically make a high output version.

Hope they do! Unfortunately I’m not holding out hope, we’re lucky to still be getting good sedans in this SUV age

This.

I really doubt the new G70 will have a different power figure, unless they specifically make a high output version.

They could easily retune. An SUV should have a different power/torque curve than a sedan. Shift the curve to lower rpm for the SUV and let the sedan rev out.

A few car companies already do this.

Oh I know it; but, so far we haven't seen any variations of the 3.3tt in terms of power. I can only assume the same will be applied to the 3.5, but I do hope they will have different tunes across platforms. If they don't, then it will certainly be a missed opportunity.

Edit: Also, the lack of more than one power figure in the new 3.5 t-gdi presentation seems to back up the idea that it will only come in one power configuration, just like the 3.3...
