  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

SPYSHOTS: The next generation of the Genesis G80 is here

Well, maybe (even if Korea and China, the 2 main Asian markets for Genesis, like their large sedans), but I'd say just as much (if not more so for Europe).

Even here, in urban centers like NYC, think there would be a market for a premium small BEV (easy to park in small spaces, don't have to visit a gas station - which are getting more difficult to find in the city, etc.).

Don't think could ever get past that chrome nib and the black plastic.

The facelifted CT6 looks better, even tho it still has the traditional/somewhat bland greenhouse/C-pillar.

Kinda funny how the basis for the new Cadillac design language, the Escala, has a greater similarity to the G80 (granted, only so much can do w/ that shape).

A7/S7 ? I'll take the Audi any day.

The only part I see similar is the bottom line of the door. Personally I just don’t think Cadillac went and said “We should look at the G80 for design cues” they based their design on the Escala and not the G80. I still don’t like the C-Pillar as much as the next person but I just can’t imagine Cadillac wanting to copy Genesis.

I think we can all agree on that. ;) I think at a quickness's glance there are some similarities but definitely many difference.

Cadillac - Please build this car.

It is understood that there have to be differences, otherwise it would be a duplicate and that would cause some real problems.
The low slung roofline is common these days - Benz CLS, BMW Grand Coupe, Audi A7 and A5 sport back, and others who have built their individual design and styling cues into the overall design. I like them all and commend Hyundai for jumping in quick with the 2015 Genesis, now G80.
By similarities we mean there is that low slung roof and long hood common theme among them. I hope that little by little, Cadillac keeps leaning towards the Escala look, fingers crossed.

And I like the G just fine btw..

Looking to update and upgrade your Genesis luxury sport automobile? Look no further than right here in our own forum store - where orders are shipped immediately!
I also see design cues from the G80.

Question for our northern Genesis peeps. In reviewing the Canadian Genesis site I noticed none of the pictures in any configured model have drive by wire. Does the 2020 offer DBW?
For comparison, the US site does show DBW.

It also shows the 2020 G90 as coming soon.

Anyone come across new pictures/spy shots? Seems very quiet for weeks/months now. :( Nothing on Instagram or Google.

Haven’t heard anything or seen anything just renderings. Seems like they are pre paring the P1 models to be testing around soon. So more then likely that’s what’s going to happen.

Seems like from the second slide this model has a wide sunroof like the G70 has. Another indication that it is a P1 because prototype models do not get the sunroof/pano installed. I would predict that the reveal would be some where around July-September. This is just my prediction.

I noticed the panoramic roof too, it could be lighting but the blind spot indicator looks sort of red. It's probably because it's so small that the lighting is making it darker, but it's interesting.

I don’t think it’s a pano sunroof because of from the angle it looks like a Wide Sunroof like the G70 does. For the Blind Spot I think it is the same orange we all know and love but they could change it. Other car companies do the red color as well.

Is a panoramic sunroof not the one that opens and has a halfway split?

Yeah that’s what a panoramic sunroof is there there is a beam in the middle between the front and rear glass. But the wide sunroof is just one glass that opens but it’s length and width is longer.

Thank you for the clarification and I did notice the blind spot indicator looks more orange... but it also looks red haha. I know Volvo, Mercedes and I think BMW have red.

The headlights have dual DRL’s which look really cool.

No worries. The only one that is red is Mercedes. BMW and Volvo do Orange/yellow.
