  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

The AMS Genesis coupe is HERE!!! Let the modding BEGIN!!!

Were the hell have you been the RB26 found in a Skyline is TTV6, and the
2JZ is TT Hell so is the 3000GT VR6 is also TT!!! Learn your cars before you post!

No, you are the one that needs to learn your cars.

The GT-R is the only car in the GT-R/Skyline heritage to bear a V6 twin turbo.

The Supra never had a V6, turbo or not.

wow man, if you think the Supra never had twin turbos you need to learn alot more....

twin turbocharged 2JZ-GTE making 276 hp (206 kW; 280 PS) and 318 ft·lb (431 N·m) of torque for the Japanese version. For the export model (America/Europe) Toyota upgraded the Supra turbo's engine (smaller, steel wheeled turbochargers, bigger fuel injectors, etc.). This increased the power output to 320 hp (239 kW; 324 PS) at 5600 rpm and 315 ft·lb (427 N·m) at 4000 rpm. The turbocharged variant could achieve 0–60 mph in as low as 4.6 seconds and 1/4 mile (402 m) in 13.1 seconds at 109 mph (175 km/h)

and yes the 3000gt was twin turbo.

the GT-R 2.6l had twin turbos.

Holy shit, another ****ing moron lacking reading comprehension.

V6. V

Is not I. As in Inline.

aware it has a inline six, i was referring to it being twinturbo. I assumed you thought the car wasnt twin turbo. my bad!

Looking to update and upgrade your Genesis luxury sport automobile? Look no further than right here in our own forum store - where orders are shipped immediately!
So its an Inline 6 not a V6 my bad still has 6 cylinders, and not a 4 banger! Most of the legendary cars that are imports to be modified are 6 cylinders or upgraded with a swap! I just want the most power over all!

First off, thank you to everyone at AMS for doing all this and sharing it with us! Especially since it's been on your own time.

Second, I'm sure others would agree with me on this: Please take your V6 vs i4 argument elsewhere. I was following this thread for info on the i4 and the last few post would make me not want to continue. If you aren't into i4's and want to "go big or go home", then join a Dodge Viper forum.

My $.02

(oh, by the way, RX7 is a rotary engine, not V6)

Yes the RX-7 is a rotary engine but with that I was just saying its TT! But as for what I was getting to is that most People I read about on places like this is they want more power, to run 10s in a 1/4 mile, or to get big dyno numbers will if so why go with the 4 unless you cant afford the 6? And people keep waiting like all the parts are just going to appear for sale! Not every shop can have all these cars to work on. So get out there and be willing to provide your car for a prototype!!! I do know Weapon R is looking for a Manual Coupe! OH and get pissed to lessen the wait time. Cuz I dont think enough shops are giving the Coupe enough time. Now if it was a honda everything would be made well before if was at the lot lol.
Just my thoughts

I for one am not looking to run 1/4 mile in 10's, nor any huge dyno numbers. Drag racing and dynos are only for bragging rights, I'm looking for a car that can nimbly zip around a track on a budget. I'm into this model because from what I hear it is slightly more balanced then the 6, and comes with all the turbo groundwork. Swapping out the turbo for a better setup will give the response time that it lacks and still will cost less than the v6. If I wanted to go fast in a straight line I would be looking at another car for sure, but it's more for daily driving and a bit of weekend fun.

yeah I do like to go to the 1/4 mile track every now and then, but I also like to drift after being in a buddies 240 and I also want somthing a bit different! they have this car up to 560 whp with a custom kit but did not say 1/4 mile times or anything. Id also like to keep it a daily driver. There is a lot to be said about a car you can daily drive and also get 10s or lower on a 1/4 mile with full interior!

Hop off the Displacement bandwagon for a bit.
Do a little research on performance 4cyl engines, and come back with some knowledge on engines... ur buddys 240. 4cyl... i know you have heard of the 4G63 2.0.. if not research. that "4cyl." has pushed cars into the 8s, and 7s..
As far as the genesis 3.8 vs the 2.0.. put the money diff from the two, put it into the 2.0 engine and its faster than the 3.8 guaranteed.

AMS needs to concentrate on twin turboing the V6. U are out at 306hp. Should be very easy to get over 400hp. Hyundai shoul do this from the factory.........:D

Honestly, army guy, you are the most annoying person ive ever read on a car forum, even worse than one guy who talks about beating crotch rockets in a stock G8 on my g8 forum.

This was a great thread, maybe the best and most informative thread about modding a genesis coupe 2.0T that exists out there right now. AMS was giving great info and making some strides. the genesis coupe does seem to have a good forum, at least i cant find one. if anyone knows of one, please let me know.

NOW, you have completely ruined the thread. Stop bitchin about how no one is making parts for your V6, of course the 2.0T will be more popular to mod, its 2009, not 1994. I love the 6 cyl turbo cars from the mid 90s, supra, 300zx, believe me, but get over it. these days its all about evos and wrxs. The genesis coupe is a very new car, and its a bad economy. people arent just gonna go and make everything for your car these days, that takes R&D, and guess what, the genesis isnt selling amazing, so some performance companies are hesitating in getting into the market. if you had any sense of how a business works, or even had an education, youd understand that.

now grow up, wipe your tear filled eyes, and maybe you should take some initiative and start making calls to companies and offering your car as a test dummy.

As for the forum, where the hell are the moderators to cut annoying people off?
