  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Anyone looked at this yet? Is it a hard process?

I want to. Was quoted $150 which seems excessive. You can buy the pre-cut kit from Lamin X now. Under Hyundai G70.

I would figure its a simple dyi if you wanted to tackle it. Taking out the assembly is easy. I did that to replace the none LED bulbs. And the lights themselves are mostly flat.

There are many different levels. But the basic tint looks like factory blackened tail lights. The red appears deeper!

This would also darken the turn signals and reverse lights. May be worthwhile for us that did LED swap and feel it's too bright (though I personally think the brightness is fine).

That was the first thing I thought when I saw the LED brightness, my car is red, maybe a little bit of darkness on the rear lights would be an interesting option on a red car.

You got me thinking about how sweet it could look on mine as well. Dark accents look really good on my silver... Hmm..

The gunsmoke option on Lamin-X looks pretty good ...

For those wondering what the regular tint would love ok like, the Nissan Rogue comes this way from factory and so does the new 3 series.
There are other cars with varying degrees of tail light factory tints as well and some more subtle than others.
The G70 Sports is more subtle than the no sport with the darkened tail lights.
My wife's Sorento is also darkened from factory and the red is nice and deep!

I'm digging the "tint" option. Relatively subtle.. Looks like the film would protect the plastic on the taillights too, as that stuff scratches pretty easily.

Just ordered Lamin X taillight covers. Most basic "Tint" option. They have a 20% off deal going on right now, I couldn't resist!!

I'll post a before and after, along with installation process.

Ooooh, 20% ... sigh, like I need to spend more, but grabbed a set of gunsmoke ...

Shipping price to Canada is insane for a flat package!

Looks very nice! Is this just regular window tint, or did you buy a tail light cover kit?
