That is 100% completely false. No codes are stored permanently (you can clear) dealer will NEVER know.Ya, I was about ready to buy my JB4 with plugs but am apprehensive due to it storing codes that show it was piggybacked thus voiding the warranty, should the worst happen.

According to who? That is 100% completely false. No codes are stored permanently (you can clear) dealer will NEVER know.
Wow!!!!!I would love to believe this but our Hyundai/Genesis tech's are being trained on how to search if the car was ever tuned. Trust me I have tuned plenty of my car's in the past but was told first thing NOT to do it. Hyundai is well prepared after what they went through with the Genesis coupe.
If you have the 3.3t, did you replace and/or regap the spark plugs? I'm far from an expert, but that seems to be the most common issue (not replacing or regaping)based on what you described.Installed JB4 on my G70, drove around about 30 minutes to let the computer learn and left it in map 1 stock plugs. If I give it even a little throttle it pops and sputters, any ideas?
Stock plugs and gap. Talked to Burger earlier they said I could run map one with them but recommended changing plugs. Others have posted using stock plugs and gap with map 1 and no problems.
It is 3.3t, seems odd that others are running map 1 but I can't on stock plugs without regapping. It's not under full throttle doing this, I barely touch the throttle maybe 20% and it acts up.
Interesting.. Didn't know that. Was looking to get a JB4. I hope I don't end up with one with a faulty chip.Shoot an email to Terry and see what he says. A little while ago Terry said that there was a problem with one of the chips in the JB4 causing really bad misfires. Your plugs should be just fine.
