  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Ya, I was about ready to buy my JB4 with plugs but am apprehensive due to it storing codes that show it was piggybacked thus voiding the warranty, should the worst happen.

That is 100% completely false. No codes are stored permanently (you can clear) dealer will NEVER know.

I would love to believe this but our Hyundai/Genesis tech's are being trained on how to search if the car was ever tuned. Trust me I have tuned plenty of my car's in the past but was told first thing NOT to do it. Hyundai is well prepared after what they went through with the Genesis coupe.

Wow!!!!!

According to anyone who understands how piggyback tunes work. You do NOT touch the ECU.

Pointless to discuss. Do your research.

Thanks.

Installed JB4 on my G70, drove around about 30 minutes to let the computer learn and left it in map 1 stock plugs. If I give it even a little throttle it pops and sputters, any ideas?

If you have the 3.3t, did you replace and/or regap the spark plugs? I'm far from an expert, but that seems to be the most common issue (not replacing or regaping)based on what you described.

Stock plugs and gap. Talked to Burger earlier they said I could run map one with them but recommended changing plugs. Others have posted using stock plugs and gap with map 1 and no problems.

I don't know if your running the 3.3t engine or not, but if so, it's a known issue to be experiencing misfires on stock plugs with stock gap. Burger even recommends replacing to colder plugs or at the least re-gapping, to avoid this issue. I'm unaware if this issue persists with non 3.3t engines. Either way a better place to go to troubleshoot this would be their official forums, as you'll find more help there I'm sure.

It is 3.3t, seems odd that others are running map 1 but I can't on stock plugs without regapping. It's not under full throttle doing this, I barely touch the throttle maybe 20% and it acts up.

Shoot an email to Terry and see what he says. A little while ago Terry said that there was a problem with one of the chips in the JB4 causing really bad misfires. Your plugs should be just fine.

Thanks Toddasaurus,
E-mailed Burger last week and talked to Anton, sent me a message yesterday they're sending a new chip. I've removed the JB4 and everything is fine, back to stock.

I have an interesting question? I just updated my JB4 FIRMWARE To Version V16 T2 on my 2.0 and while updating the fan kicked on which I thought was strange now that the update is done the fan will not shut off unless i turn the car off. The car run great seems to hold boost better but even with water temperature in the 150's the fan stays on and will not shut off unless i turns the car off please help.

Interesting.. Didn't know that. Was looking to get a JB4. I hope I don't end up with one with a faulty chip.

Hey guys, we're here and ready to help make these cars faster! :)
Hi Terry I recently upgraded my firmware to V16 T2 and while the version was updating on the 2.0 VELOSTER N the fan kicked on which I thought was strange 🤔 the car is running great no engine lights BUT AFTER THE UPDATE THE FAN NOW STAYS RUNNING ALL THE TIME UNTILL I SHUT THE CAR OFF. Even if the car is cool the fan continues to run is there anything I can do perhaps revert back to version V13?

Last I heard he got the problem resolved a while ago. Something about a weird batch of chips or something.. *shrug*

If you need immediate help email terry or post in the N54 forum. He doesn’t monitor this forum much and could take weeks or months to see this post
